C350 (maybe?)
Seat Heights C250/300/350

Hello all,

Just joined the forum after browsing awhile as questions have arisen.

I've been around to the local dealers and sat in a few of the C class models. I even took a C300 out for a test drive (nice!), however.... there is one slight problem. I'm 6'3" and my head rubs against the roof in a C300. Makes it pretty difficult to want to buy one if every bump on the road will put me into the sunroof.

Now, when I sit in a C250 my head does not touch. Presumably this is due to the seat not having the automatic lumbar adjustment which the other one did needing another motor below the seat.(?)

Has anyone noticed if the seat difference between the C300 and C350 lets one sit lower down in the 350? Or if the Pano roof makes enough of a difference that my head won't rub?

I suppose if I am unable to fit I will have to convince myself a C63 is in order; which I fit in nicely. Wasted 5 bucks of gas just revving the engine in the parking lot.

Help sensibility win (and my wallet) folks.

Thanks much,

Tyler

Another round of ICE
Can you order a non-sunroof vehicle in Canada? That would improve the situation significantly.

Did you try lowering the seat? I am 6-2 and have plenty of headroom...WAY more than my G35 coupe.

I dont believe you can order a Canadian C class without a sunroof of one sort or another. (normal or pano)

As far as I could tell and the salesman. I was as far down/back as the seat would let me go. Just wondering if it had a standard 8 way seat and perhaps a 10way might have a bit more?

It surprised me that my head was rubbing. Damned if i don't want to fit in it though!

Perhaps there was something wrong with the seat as well... I will have to see if I can get in a C350 to sit/test.

Try laying the seat back a little which will give to more room.

I saw a w204 in Montreal without sunroof - it's part of an option bundle.

Anyway - the standard seats are on the smallish side for 6'2". Consider a set of top-line Recaros or OE C63 seats.

Seats are best upgrade in any car unless it has fabulous ones already.

C250 is available in Canada without a sunroof. The sunroof is part of the premium package.

Also, you could order any C-Class in Canada (including C350) without a sunroof by PA1 special order, however, it would have to be a cash/finance deal.

I have the C350 Elegance (Luxury in North America) Sedan and has seat adjustment and leather upholstery adequate for my 6'3, without any problem below the sun roof.

Are you serious? The C63 seats are smaller than crap. I'm 6'2" and a BIG GUY and I fit with plenty of head room. My 6'7" Lt fit without a problem too. If someone is not familiar with the seat controls- they do not realize they lower. Just a thought.

Definitely was as far back and down as that chair was going. From the replies I am sensing that something may have been an issue with that seat.

I'll send an email to the guy i was dealing with and see if there is another car around I can have a go at.

Thanks folks.
