Check Engine Light On

Hey i just recently installed an X-pipe on my 08 C-300 and my check engine light came on. Wondering if anyone has any thoughts what might casue it. Also if the X-pipe might have triggered something. The car seems a little sluggish off the start, maybe losing back pressure? Thanks

You are the first I have heard this happen to...Congrats...

Honestly I can't imagine this being from the exhaust work as we have had guys do Cat and Muffler deletes on top of x-pipe without problem. I think it is likely just a coincidence.

Also I got a custom x-pipe done..they say the cut and welded two pipes together, i have a feeling its straight, but either way it sounds nice. would that cause the light to come on, if it isnt an x-pipe and its a straight pipe?

Probably not. I had true staight pipes for a few days with no problems...just didn't like the sound.

well i feel a little better that the straight pipes shouldnt cause a problem. BTW, what was wrong with the sound?

Just too raspy, poppy and unrefined...sounded like two really pissed off mopeds with their exhausts ripped off...
