New LED

So as some of you know, I've been in contact with another LED manufacturer giving this venture one last shot of truly white and working LED brows. Talking over with their engineer, the specs on these look promising and should be able to handle the voltage fluctuation. I've just received my test batch and initial color test look good. It's white, not blue, not purple. Driving it for an hour today at night and coming home to check...still white. First test pass. I'm going to give it a couple weeks to test and make sure these don't fall apart on me and still maintain the white color. I've got working LEDs from ctgilles's group buy, my Blesk group buy, and iJDMToy leds and have done a comparison. These are true white compared to those. If these work well, I'll petition the admins to run another group buy and hopefully the holy grail for those of us who've been searching for these since the model year beginning with me will finally be found.

Unfortunately no. They had one that was 8000k which they shipped for me to test, but unfortunately does not work. Too bad too cause that one had like tons of LEDs on it and was told that was the brightest one. The second brightest version (that will fit the dimensions of the eyebrow housing) are the ones I'm testing now which sits around 6000k.

BTW, there's a car meet going on tomorrow for those in OC that want to come out and check out in person. I should be there on time, but picking up a new body kit tomorrow so might be a little late.

Hey Mike,
if you can test out the temperatures as well. I remember some people having their sockets being burnt because of the built in resistors.

MB W204, VW Polo, Audi R8 V10 - SOLD.
That's great Mike. 600K sounds a bit on the blue side though... So I would want to see how they match up against Polargs which match very well with the stock BiXenons....

Do you have an initial idea about the price? Affordable or pricey?

Also please look out for any overheating issues, but I guess those came hand in hand with the overvoltage, and if these LED,s have a stable built in regulator they should work.

When you said the 8000k didn't work. Did that mean that the 8000k were too big to fit and are out of the realm of possibility?

Thanks so much for taking the time out to test this all for us.

It's pure white from what my eyes detect, but since people perceive color spectrums slightly differently due to their eyes, I invited any OC locals to the meet tonight to check it out and give their impression and assessment.

Pricing will be cheaper than any LEDs out there I can tell you that right now. Can't give you exact numbers cause have to figure out bulk price, shipping, customs, transaction fee, etc.

Was planning on taking some pics tonight, but I'm not generally a fan of lighting pics as it never comes out exactly how it looks in person.

I requested 2 types of bulbs. Each had their own design. So when I say 8000K, I didn't mean the current design I'm testing but a 8000K variety. They don't offer multiple kelvin ratings per LED design unfortunately. I measures the slots and worked with their engineer to make sure that what they were sending me would fit. One LED design they had looked outstanding, but unfortunately, wouldn't fit in the brows, or sidemarker for that matter.

Kit is for my 7 series. Picked up Prior Design sponsorship so they're hooking me up. Unfortunately due to the volcano in europe, flights were grounded and kit didn't arrive till just now...so won't have it in time for bimmerfest

Thanks so much for clarifying. Too bad the 8000k didn't fit. I am personally not a fan of the pure white like everyone else is on the forum.

yeah, I'm running 8000k HIDs so I'm not even doing this for my own use lol. I've been lucky enough to have my Blesk LEDs still hold on strong so will be using those. Majority here though use 4300-6000k so this would be a pretty good option for them.

Do they seem significantly brighter than the polarg bulbs? Is the color the same all around the eyelid? The last LED's I bought looked fair (slight purple) from the front but really purple from the edge/side view of the eyelid.

Thanks as always AZN!

I don't want to get into estimated pricing till I see how many orders we're going to have and get permission from mods as they're an oversensitive lot lol. I can promise you this, price will be cheaper than any you can find on ebay or forums or what not.
