Mercedes Matte Paint
Mercedes announced today that it has become the first car manufacturer to offer matte paint on production vehicles as a factory option. The Mercedes matte paint is part of the company's 2011 customization program and is called designo MAGNO paint. The company says the new Mercedes matte paint offers the advantage of being less prone to minor scratches and it also hides better minor dirt and dust traces on the car. The Mercedes matte paint is offered on mots of the company's passengers cars through the designo program and can be applied on other vehicles on special order.
Apart from the new Mercedes matte paint, the company's 2011 designo customization program also includes new exterior colors (Allanite Grey,cashmere White, and Platinum) and interior leather hues (Platinum White, Light Brown, Jet Black and Deep White). Other interior trim options offered with the 2011 Mercedes customization program include Curly Maple, Tamo, Olive, and Bamboo.

Agree with JFOUR it looks odd on a stock car. I saw it on a 2011 SL (night edition)and it was looked off. Had it been with matte black rims and tints I think it would look much better.

I saw a matte white SL65 AMG KWC edition and it was beautiful.
I could not stop touching the finish, it feels like there's a dozen layers or it was dipped in plastic. It has a nice solid feel and seems like it would be a very durable finish.
I wonder if MB will offer their Alu Beam paint, which could described as liquid metal, almost a grayish chrome. It was first used on their show cars, but was later offered on a limited edition 40th anniversary CL65 AMG and the upcoming SLS.
