Any idea how to put cigarette lighter in "always on" mode?

Hello everyone,
This is my first thread, hope wont be last tho
I've connected an indoor camera to my lighter, no proplem while the doors are open or engine is running.. However when i lock the doors power is off.. So that my little camera cannot record after a while..
Is there any way to put the cigarette lighter in "always on" mode? Or otherwise where shall I get it directly connected to?
I need that camera, because a ***** is scratching it!
I checked older threads in the forum, found one solution for E series. however that one is no good for me. Cuz there is no second position for lighter fuse in the fusebox! (for those whom will read that thread )
thanks already
(btw my car is 2009 C220 CDI)

Before this goes any further, I'd like a clarification of this statement.

I'm not an electrical guy so correct me if i'm wrong but I believe you can tap power direct from the battery to get a direct source of power. You can use some kind of relay harness with a built in fuse to draw direct power from the battery and wire it through the glovebox. If your familiar with HID kits, they sell relay harnesses that draw power from the battery instead of the factory wire harness for the light switch. Though if you plan on leaving the cam on 24/7 then you run the risk of draining the life of your battery.

There probably is an easier way but this is all I could think of to have constant power on the cam.

If someone is scratching your car repeatedly, it's probably someone you know. Unless you have a "Serial Scratcher" in your area...lol...Have you had a confrontation with anybody recently?

It would probably be easier to run another socket from the battery. Any audio shop should be able to do this for cheap. Just keep in mind there will be nothing to keep your accessories from completely draining the battery, so make sure you have the means to jump start your car if you leave the camera on all night!

Make sure its fused as well, else a short will cause a fire.

^ Agree

How often is your car getting scratched? (once a week? / 2 times a week?) Around what time of day do you notice new scratches? Have you made any police reports? or know of any other people in your area having their vehicles keyed/scratched?

If its happening regularly I would try an get the local authorities involved. Especially if its not just your vehicle getting scratched.
