Any luck with those lights? I went to MB and they told me they only sell the led ights for the new 2012 model. Even though they fit, they told me that the electric part will fail... Does anybody know anything about this?

Yeah, led strips. They obviously have the original led strips with it's grill, they measured my car and it perfectly fits, but the problem will come with the electronics of the car, I don't understand too much about it but they said that the lights won't light up with w204 because they were design for the w212. I've seen man pictures like the 1st post of this thread and I know Mercedes sells the lights but where!!!! I'm in Colombia and they were supposed to import the lights directly from Germany.

Electronics are all the same, sometimes you just need a bandaid to get around differences in model years.

I dont know why they would say these were meant for the w212, they are oem on US 2011 w204s

Anyway, check out my thread. there is a parts list on the second page (I got all of my stuff from parts.com) and there are instructions how to wire, and what you need in order to get them to work properly

I dont know why they said that either. thanks for the information but Im not really an expert with electronics and those kind of installations. I would prefer to ask directly to mercedes to do that, at the beginning they were charging me nearly $800.00 for all the original parts, and installation included. When I was about to place the order with the man in charged of the operation, another guy from mercedes came by and told us that the lights wont work. That if I wanted them so bad, they could install me the lights but only to give it a touch to its design because the wont light up....

The truth is that I want them!!!!!! I dont know what to do, as they are employees of mercedes I believed what they said, but I dont really want to waste my money... what do i do?????

Dumb question here, are you talking about switching from the old round fogs to the LED strips? or just replacing the existing LEDs?

Why would you want to do that? The LED DRL's are not as useful as the fogs. I really wish I had a choice when I bought my 2011 sport.

Because I like how they look. I think the xenon lights are just enough.

Well, bottom line is that they work - and it's pretty easy to do yourself. Parts cost under $400 when bought online.

so.. up to you

I'm on the fence about doing the LEDs, I put my plans to swap out my halogens for azn's HID/Leds due to a random shopping spree i went on, but the more i think about it, i dunno how much i like the LED 'fogs'

given the description of your car beind a 250 you must be overseas. You can order the lights online, then go to a mechanic or an audio/customizer of cars and have them install them. Its pretty easy to do, mercedes wont do this type of custom work on your car, its not what they do unless you can talk to one of the mechanics to do for you as a side job
