groupbuy on POWERCHIP ecu tune
#176
Hi guys,
Thank you to all who participated, the best part of a group buy is meeting all the fellow enthusiasts. We are happy to provide the community with a worthwhile upgrade at a price point that's more attractive. For those of you who haven't jumped on the bandwagon yet, if you contact us via e-mail before November 1st we will still honor the group buy price.
hitokiri, I apologize for the delay in sending your ecu back, I'm not sure if you are aware, but your car was tuned already by another tuner and we didn't anticipate the extra time in decrypting your ecu so it didn't leave the same day. That being said, you have a good tune in your car now
Special thanks to ulovemybenzo, without his efforts, we wouldn't have had the group buy. We've never done a group buy price so low and you guys have him to thank for being so persistent in trying to hook everyone up.
Happy Halloween to you all

Just a email out to Matt from Powerchip thanking him for the great price and feedback . The tune was worth every cent , my car gets faster every time I drive it . No lag at all now in c mode I love the response and pull I get now .

Question about resetting ECU by disconnecting battery or using the "gas pedal stomp" method:
If I do this will it erase my Powerchip udpate or will it just need to re-learn everything?
I am considering "resetting" the ECU using the "stomp" method because my car after the tune is very similar to my friends untuned C350. I think he has driven his car hard from day 1, whereas mine has the tune on top of some old lazy driving habits.
Can I do the ECU reset and still have my Powerchip tune stored in memory?
Im not sure how it works.

the "stomp" method is only resetting "throttle response" it has nothing to do with a/f mapping which is what the tune provides. you can reset the throttle response any time you like.
a/f mapping stays unless re-flashed.

My check engine light just came on after 40 miles after the tune. The codes were P0025, P0173 and P0170. Does anyone know where I can get the meaning of the codes? Also is it safe to drive to the dealer to get this check it and will it wipeout my Powerchip tune?

check engine light will come on "once" after the tune (don't ask me why it does, but it just does. it did on mine after the 4th start. ). just restart it a couple more time and it will go away and not come back.

This tune should work on the GLK's too right ?. Other question is if you put a better flowing exhaust like manifold back can they tune it for that too to gain more.

Just went on a 35mile drive and was able to resist constantly massing my accelerator. It looks like i gained about 3 mpg Over my usual.
C350: 28mpg. 35 miles. Avg speed 66 mph.
I did exceed 80 mph several times. I'm impressed with the mpg.

I've been looking into this too. I'm trying to find octane requirements. Renntech claims a 20 ft-lb boost in torque as well.
