Rear View Mirror Bulb Changing
Has anyone removed and replaced the light bulb in the rear view mirror? (map lights)
I've made an attempt to remove the casing, but it rather tight and have scuff marks on the edges!
Any tips? pic of removing the casing and getting to the bulb?
Thanks

i was actually wondering about the ambient (orange) light
Im sure if someone cracks the map lights, the ambient light is straight forward.

I think its a little bit late but however maybe someone else need it to:
1. you have to remove the light cover
2. remove the baffle inside
3. remove the lamp that is trapped i've used a gripper to remove it be carfull don't push the gripper too hard
4.install the baffle
5.install the LED
6. test the function of the map light
7.install the cover
i'm sorry for my bad english

I changed my mood LED.. what a pain in the behind. you need to put the plastic frame around the front mirror housing. Use a flat blade screwdriver.
then you can see the led light assembly. They are all surface mount (SMD) type LED. I pulled out the mood led and replaced with a 3mm amber led (you need to solder back on).. A lot brighter but not overly...

I just saw a thread for C300 that has a video from precision LED showing how to change interior bulbs, I purchased there kit, but the video doesn't show how to change rearview mirror reading lights, which there kit comes with replacemt bulbs for them...ugh

Let's spin this around. Does anyone have the part number for the stock LEDs in the mirror housing? Since they were made for the car, I would think they are much better made than the aftermarket ones available and possibly cheaper too.

Rear view mirror bulb replacement
I wanted to replace rear view mirror bulbs with blue LEDs. Took mirror assembly apart, removed circuit board from just above the clear plastic....and wow, led oem lights are built into the circuit boards. No changing of lights...Soooo, I took a blue sharpie and colored the plastic...pow!

This is when I finally figured how to disassemble. There seems to be nothing on this anywhere. I was trying to remove clear plastic cover like all the rest of the interior lights.
