Removing CATS

Doesn't matter if it's MB or Honda, or Toyota, BMW, Ford for that matter..
They all have O2 sensors and EGR now days..
Remove the CATS will trigger CEL because O2 sensors will see same levels of emissions and ECU will think your CATS is not working properly and give you the CEL..
One way to fool the ECU is to get O2 sensor simulator and fool the ecu to think everything is working properly

i was referring to this specific case smart guy...ive seen it done no errors..im very well off on knowing my cars
I can't fault you, since it's pretty obvious the most valuable thing you own is the C you are driving and you probably don't have much experience w/ luxury cars...

really..good thing my first car was a 2001 cl600...
However, if you really want to get it right and gain about 10HP, I would look into change all 4 CATS to state legal high-flow ones, then not only will you get the sound you want, (it will be the deep roaring type not the rice out Honda Civic type with no real bass), gain HP, and still compliance to state law and be environmental friendly..
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
Anyway..the RX is for the wife, was looking at GLK, Q5 & MDX but decide to go w/ RX since it's not going to be my primary ride, so I just want something that's easy to take care..
BTW..how much did you sell that 2001 Civic LX for?? I hope you was able to get enough $$ to cover all the mods you did on your C300..lol
All kidding aside, you did good w/ your c300..like the black/white/carbon fiber look..
Acceptable performance and air quality are not necessarily mutually exclusive. My lowly C consistently traps ~110 mph with its post-manifold OE exhaust system entirely intact. Most certainly complies with the spirit -if not the letter- of currently applicable legislation. They’ll always sound pretty much like any other farty V6.

In the Chicagoland area, visual inspections are non-existent. I filled the emissions place up with my noxious fumes while I idled like a Harley and they never batted an eye. No codes, no prob. Oh the wonders of a properly tuned vehicle.

No SR pipes bud! Just a Magnaflow X-Pipe. I got the connectors from the stock exhaust to fit into this one. Got them welded on.
