Performance mods for C300 6speed

Are there any performance mods for these cars? I wish higher end models came with the manual transmission. Also, wondering if anyone has any videos driving the stick C-Classes? Thanks

C300 Luxury
Only serious mods run into thousands of dollars with tuning companies like Kleeman and Brabus. Better off getting a C63 if you want performance... Or a 335i if you really want a MT... my 2 cents

You can do a ecu tune , x pipe or a whole new exhaust if you wanted . Suspension , filters , etc . It really just depends on how much power you want and how much you want to spend . I recommend the ecu tune from Powerchip ... they did my 350 and it really makes a big difference . I think they are having a groupbuy so you might want to look into it.

Personally, I find that even my c300 4matic is great on speed. From a stand still - its nothing impressive, but while your driving and the tranny downshifts to the 4000+ area and you floor the car moves great. Yeah sure, you can remove the resonator, place in x-pipe, remove mufflers, place in high flow stuff, drop in high flow air filters like K&M, but to be honest, all of those gains, if there are any, are negligible at best. The best thing you can do performance wise is to get an ECU tune, but it voids your warranty. I guess you can always re-flash to stock to go to the dealership if you run into a problem, but its a hassle. If you just reset the learned tranny, I find the car becomes very responsive again, if you search it, you will find an easy DIY on how to do this. Something like put key in position 1, hold gas pedal down for 5 seconds or something.

To get the most performance gains, I would recommended changing out headers, replace cats with state and DOT approved high flow cats (these will probably add the most power and will let your exhaust sound better). Anything other than that would cost crazy money and its better off trading in the car for a more performance minded one.

You can get an ECU tune. There is actually a group buy going on right now if you are interested. There is actually only one spot left.

Start with ecu , it does not void warranty as it is software and no physical change to the car .

if there is any engine related issue that is brought in for warranty, and dealership recognizes that the ECU has been manipulated in any way or form, they will simply blame the problem on it and refuse the work or void warranty.

Just get Powerchip or OE Tuning, and if you run into a problem flash it back to stock. The power gains are somewhat worth it, but throttle response is where it's really at.

Yea exactly why BMW has my attention, all their AWD cars come stick. It's unfortunate that Merc doesn't do the same.

I really really really enjoy driving my E350, that's why I want to keep it in the family and get a C300 (again because it's stick). It's just a bit hard for me not to have a lot of power, even on a daily driver. I considered the E550 at one point but stick I assume would prove more reliable long term.

We will see, I saw the GB on the ECU tune, any ideas on gains on a C300 stick?

Also, is the old C230 the same engine as the new C300s??
