Doing Service A0 Yourself

I did a quick search because I got the notice that I am due for Service A0. So it seems it's just an oil change?

It's easy to do an oil change on the cars I have..04 Accord, 04 Vette Z06, and 2010 Fit. What's the deal with it being so expensive for the C300? $150+??

Is it hard to get to the drain pan? I haven't put the car on ramps to check myself yet. Is the oil filter expensive? I know Mobil 1 is $22 for 5 QTs. I buy this big jug at Walmart for that much.

I don't want to do the Oil Extraction like some others have - can I drain and refill myself?

Thanks for the minute to read this and answer to help me out

Another round of ICE
If also includes a bumper to bumper inspection. At mine, the tech found a weak cell in the battery and had it replaced under warranty. Unless you're knowledgeable enough and have the right equipment to check the whole car out, it may be worthwhile to let the trained guys handle this for you.

I have never seen 0W40 M1 at either Walmart or Costco. I have purchased M1 15/50 in 5-quart jugs at Walmart for my Porsche but that's the wrong weight for our MBs. According to MB who should know.

just an oil change unless you have other services/check needed....you can get 0w-40 or 5w-40 from any pepboys or autostore. I get filters from the parts department of stealership.

well I wanted to just experience a dealership service A0 and yup pretty much a rip off.

Here is a breakdown

$163.67 LABOR
$23.10 OIL FILTER
$1.50 N SEAL RING
$2.90 H WINDSHIELD W t001-986-80-71-17 (NO CLUE WHAT THIS IS)
$62.55 SYNTHETIC OIL (@ 6.95 PER QUART...9QTS)
-$64.00 DISCOUNT FROM THE SERVICE ADVISOR THAT I HAD TO ASK FOR
$7.88 SALES TAX

GRAND TOTAL $197.60!!!

CARMAX (WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM) SAID THEY CHARGE $65 FOR A CHANGE. GOING THERE NEXT TIME!

This probably varies from dealership to dealership. For most of us, its just an oil change.

Additionally, some dealerships charge over $200 for this oil change.
