Replacing Fog Lights in W204 Luxury?

I have searched and searched with no luck... I have some H11 CV's on the way, and I can't figure out how to get the old bulbs out...

Has anyone done it? Will you share some secrets, pics, or Diy info? Dealer wants $300 to change Bulbs, thats a joke...

Thanks in Advance!

Here's the DIY link. (Not sure if it will work for luxury, check it out anyway.) Check-out post #22.

Thanks for the help, I found that stuff, but the Luxury Model has no screws in the grill unfortunately. I was hoping someone might see this and share the trick. I feel like I may have to take some shields off the bottom?

Thanks Though...

you have to get behind in wheelwell, theres no way to go in from the front part of bumper
jack it up, turn your steering wheel, take off plastic cover, turn the bulb pull out unplug

So, you can go in through the wheelwell? The same way you get to the side markers?

Thanks!

you should be able to go in from the bottom as well. wheel well method has far less room to work.

Is it a matter of taking off those rock/splash guards, or whatever they are?

yeah.

ok there are 3 ways of doing this job.

1 wheel well - no room and by touch, can be done. no lifting.
2 bottom up - good amount of room and you can see. lift or jacks.
3 pull bumper - lots of work, infinite space, + the opportunity to poke around and mod. no lift.

its up to you.

Hi there, need a little help here... So I followed the link you have provided, got the mesh removed after unscrewing the 3 screws, the question now is: how do I pull the actual bulb out from the fog lamp housing?

I tried to i) pull it out directly, and ii) make attempts of twisting it a little, both without much luck.

Thanks for the help!

Do you have a Luxury or Sport Model? I assume sport because you are talking about 3 screws...

So I gave it another shot tonight and was able to get the broken bulb replaced swiftly; thought I could share the experience with others that may run into this situation in future:

Replacing fog light bulb on W204 Sport Model:

1. Remove the 3 screws and remove the mesh.
2. Stick your hand into the opening, toward the back-end of the light module where the extended wiring is.
3. Turn the module clock-wise to unfasten the module.
4. Pull out the broken bulb and replace with the new bulb.
5. Stick the module back, turn it counter clock-wise to fasten
6. Do steps 2 then 1 in reverse.

Done

thanks for the posting - just changed one of mine out.

Beware - the 2008 manual says these are H11 bulbs. They are actually H7.
