2008 C350 Sport
Cool New Owner C350 Sport

I am currently a member of a CTS and BMW forum, which are extremely informative and contain a wealth of knowledge - Looking forward to more of the same on this board...

I just purchased a 2008 C350 Sport, MBCPO car with 23K miles. I have only driven it twice so far (due to snow) but can tell already it is a thing of beauty to look at and to drive...

I will navigate around, but curious if there is a link regarding the care/protection of the black trim around the windows - It is the only area of the car that my detailing OCD has me focusing on, just does not look perfect for some reason - any recommended products?

What exactly are you trying to do with the trim? Is it splotchy. does it have wax residue on it? Mother's Back to Black works well for that in my experience (though I haven't used it on the Benz yet; used to use it on my GTO).

I use the Mothes BtoB and it works great. Need to re-apply about once per month to keep em black.

I use 303 aerospace protectant. It works great and doesn't contain silicone. Silicone sprays leave an oily residue that attracts dirt and may cause yellowing over time. I've also heard the solvents that suspend the silicon may cause long term damage to the polymers in the trim.

Thanks for welcome everyone...

I am talking about the metal trim around the top of the windows, it just varies in sheen and just doesnt look "polished"- I always thought "back to black" was for rubber/vinyl/plastic type materials?

Peabody, is the product you recommended for the black metal trim? If yes, where can it be purchased? (nice car btw - love that steering wheel especially)
