I waanted to see if others had an issue with acceleration lag. If I try to pass and it takes a second or two to kick in.

C300 Sport AND 93 Mazda RX7 Single Turbo
I was super annoyed with this.
Drive with it in "S" mode, I actually see better mpg in Sport mode. Its an automatic, so its always going to lag, but in "C" mode i find it almost dangerous sometimes.

Do an accelerator reset:
Ignition switch in position 1
Press accelerator pedal HALF WAY DOWN
Turn off ignition switch still holding pedal, wait 10 seconds.
Wait 5 minutes before restarting car.
This will make the C300 behave as if a Sprint Booster was installed.
They are many threads and testimonies, search for "reset". Some think they are resetting the TCU (not true), but it is just a recalibration of the accelerator.

that happens to my c350 also, i usually have to shift the gears myself to eliminate that lag.
hmm I might have to try that out

Sprint booster? huh? what are you talking about? thats not possible.. if that was possible why wouldn't Mercedes enable that to begin with, why would anyone not want fast acceleration...

it's a Mercedes, supposed to be all about luxury. It's supposed to have a smooth acceleration which it does. You try driving a BMW like that. My 335xi snaps my head back when I tap the gas, gets a little annoying. You can't really cruise with that car IMO

@Samieee: No, once you turn it off from position 1, it doesnt matter, in or out. But OFF for 5 minutes at least before restarting car or turning to position 1.

I did this earlier... What I think is happening is, whatever position you hold the accelerator at, it will use that position as the throttle point where a downshift will always happen.
I did it, I didn't like it. Yes, i had more power instantly. And I do love driving aggressively. But most often I drive conservatively. And in those cases (75% of the time) i went to give a lil gas, felt the downshift, then just a moment later felt it upshift because I didn't ride the throttle hard after the initial downshift.
So I surmise that changing this is going to, for my driving style, contribute to a rougher ride and far more shifts.
I ended up alleviating it by re-doing the procedure only holding the throttle nearly to the floor during the training procedure. Slamming it down to trigger a downshift is preferred: It gives me more control.
