New 2010+ Style Mirror LED 'COVERS' for $139?
I know for a fact that I've got a seal issue in the rear driver side area, as when it has rained, the wind noise is more noticeable and you can hear a wet element to its tone. I should try to get those door seals replaced to rule that out..
As far as these new covers go, only time will tell. I really wish they were shipping out of somewhere in the states though, est arrival time is 2 more weeks

HOLY COW. They arrived today. The quality is great and just from holding them up to the car they look great. I'm not sure if i will install the puddle lights or not, the bottom section is painted to match the top and i would prefer if it stayed matte black.
I am taking pics as I install and will have something up today or tomorrow depending on how much time i get to devote to this today..
I'll keep you posted.
First impressions though, I'm excited.

alright, and for more instant gratification, here they are installed...
Let me just say, this should be any 08/09 car's first mod. They look so much better it's not even funny. I'm in love with how my car looks again.
I will do a full install writeup maybe tomorrow night, I took lots of pics of the process, and pulling the mirrors apart is a complete PITA if you don't know how they go together.
The first mirror took probably an hour with some confusion and a broken tab or two on the original mirror cover. The second one was completely done from start to finish in 15 minutes and it was cake.

More pics to come...
Bottom line : DO IT

BTW I wired the puddle lights from the mirror and into the door panel, but just bound up the excess and zip tied it to one of the looms.
I'll have to do some more research on where to wire them before i tackle that one.

SEX. I think I actually like them better than the 2010/2011 look.
Would love to see how difficult it was to install, and better pictures (outside the garage). Also, puddle lights if you get them to work.

Will wait for pics to see how it's done.
Those look really good. I have a 2009 Palladium C63. I'm trying to picture how the black mirrors would look or if I should have them sprayed Palladium. That ups the cost of this mod from reasonable to questionable. I don't want chrome so that's out.
As for the puddle lights. I'd imagine you'd want to wire them into the dome light circuit since it turns on the interior lights when you unlock the car, and retains illumination for a period of time after locking the car. Additionally opening the door would trigger the puddle lights to come on.

looks really good. I might buy a pair since its relatively cheap. Is it just a regular black? I have obsidian paint but perhaps its not even noticeable.
EDIT: THEY ARE OBSIDIAN!!

So it doesn't change the size of the mirrors though at all right? Oh well. I think I might do it anyways :] I'd like to see some better pictures as others have said. Outside the garage on a nice and sunny driveway would be nice! (If its not too much to ask :3)
I may consider doing this if it doesn't lose the power folding feature.
I also will like to know if it has a chrome frame around the mirrors, which looks distracting.
I may just go with the all chrome version if it does -- I currently have the OEM chrome mirrors and it actually looks nice and more subtle with the Iridium silver paint.
A carbon fibre version would be nice.

the rim is not chrome, all pieces are painted black 197 (i think?) which is obsidian. In the pic it is just a sun glare youre seeing.
The mirrors still auto fold with no hangups or restrictions..
So far, no negatives! I will try to get some better full view pics today, maybe a vid of the blinker look..

for those who have an 09 model, just curious how that is going to work since we dont have the folding mirrors. Also is it also only the driver's side with the dimming function?
It's only the cover, not the entire mirror assembly. It replaces the forward and lower piece of the mirror assembly, however the power/glass/etc are unaffected.
no they do not look the exact same as the 2010s as they re-use the 2008 mirror and inner workings.
The blinker is the same style as 2010 while the mirror as a whole is still larger.
Here is another pic, or two

All in all I like them much more than the 2008 style mirrors. It would really take a trained eye to spot that this was not a 2010 mirror if seen driving down the road.

^^ They are designed to have the arrow like LED turn signal like the new design, but since its just the mirror cover, it still goes around your original glass which is shaped differently than then new design
I am totally sold on this!
Can't wait to see installation instructions and photos, especially the puddle lights.
I think I will stick with the chrome covers, as I really like my 2008 OEM chrome covers as it only looks good and subtly unique on silver cars.
