Possible new 2008 c350 owner... have a few questions.

Hello everyone... I was looking into an e55 AMG, but came across this c350 that I really like. Its 3 years newer and has some mileage left on the warranty. It makes more sense...

Anyway, is there any history of problems with the 2008 c350? I will be getting an extended warranty, but I was just wondering if there were any notorious issues with the c350.

Thanks for the help

laggy transmission is one of the biggest problems owners report, most c classes up until the 2011 model have the laggy tranmission issue, its due to the ecu learning your driving style and applies delays to the transmission , it could be good and bad, but as i said its mostly the 2010 and lower models that had the problem.

mercedes DID issue a firmware update to the transmission though which improved things though so..

The 2011 has a redesigned transmission so it doesnt have that specific problem (but its not perfect either)

Other than being AWESOME? Not sure... Fog lights constantly get eaten up by road debris to the tune of $90-$210+tax (depending on whether you can install it yourself) but some claim protective film can help.

If you do get it try to get one with a P2 package(xenon lights and led turn signals amongst other goodies...), MM pack, and pano roof with the 18" twin five spoke rims. Looks killer.

Avoid leases and if the trip meter hasn't been reset for a few thousand miles or more you can get an idea of what type of driving the car was doing.

I know people who have leased cars and never changed the oil or put regular when the manual calls for premium only. Others are meticulous.

The used car market seems to be a bit of a hit or a miss....

I'm sure some here will think that you should look for a new car within your budget rather than a 3 year old one nearing the end of it's warranty. That makes sense too..

It's not an M3 or a 335 in terms of acceleration, but it's a sweet ride nonetheless!

w204 - 350 N other white cars
the 08 models have just a few known minor flaws. someone can add in if i am missing something.

1. excessive rear brake dust - (easy done by replacing the rear brake pad)

2. sunroof malfunction - if the car hasn't already been installed with new sunroof software then the dealer can easily do it since u have warranty

3. key ignition switch kill - some have reported this problem. i have experience this problem but its not an issue n rarely happen

thats all she wrote, but other than that, enjoy the ride fella!

You might want to check with your wife/husband first cause this is a real head-turner, chick magnet etc. .

If its under warranty as stated above, just have your dealer change the rear brake pads (there is a service bulletin on here somewhere if needed), and you will be the happiest man alive with this car. Good luck!

The joys of being 20 yrs old . Haha I dont have to worry about that... yet...

Thanks guys, I think Im gonna try and make a deal on the car on saturday.

Its got 33k miles, 2008 c350 with the AMG package/Nav. I dont think it has HID's though. Whats the price to put HID's in a benz? If anyone knows.

Theyre asking 29,9 for the car. KBB is 33k. Im gonna try and go for 28,5.... wish me luck
