question about exhaust..

so basically i changed my mufflers to magnaflows mufflers but i kept my resonator on.

when my car first starts it sounds completely stock and once it warms up its still pretty quiet just makes a little hum.

i heard getting an xpipe could help but by how much?

i was thinking of just straight piping the car, but is it true that you lose horse power?

so what do you guys say x pipe or straight pipe? or any other suggestions?

touching the cats isn't an option

The resonator cuts out a lot of sound so give the x-pipe a try and see what you think. I would be interested in hearing the sound with the x-pipe/Magnaflow combo.
Whatever you do, don't try straigt pipes...pretty well sucks.

Straight pipes sound very raspy.

Im waiting for my magnaflows to arrive. The exhaust shop said the smaller the muffler the louder it gets. I got alot of good info from tank who's nice whip is in the pic above and he went with 2.5 inch that are 20" long and custom tips. I ordered 2.25 which only come in 17" and got some rectangulerly rolled tips that look like remus tips but are magnaflow w no name on them. Im hoping for a stock sound maybe a little growl, Im after the quad look mostly, my 2011 has more growl than my 08 had stock. I didnt want to hack my stock exhaust cause I lease my cars so I found 2 mufflers and tips all stainless polished lifetime magnaflows for 360 free shipping. I painted a C63 rear valance to match the paint on the car and Im hoping for a good outcome. Ill post pics next week when its on the new ride. I just got it back from tints and rims and now I gotta tear the interior out this weekend to do the system. Im dieing to drive this new car, its got every option possible including paddles

x pipe made a huge difference i am glad i went this route, the car sounds very deep in low revs and in the high revs you hear the x pipe but instead of it being high and raspy its a little lower, sounds just like a race car, however my gas mileage went down to about 14mpg from me trying to listen to the exhaust this week. i hope i get over them soon, otherwise i'll go even more broke!
