2011 W204 purchase with Xzilion Appearance Protection, any experiences?
Hello guys,
so ive been spending a lot of time here in the W204 section, trying to get info about 204s, and thanks for the welcome![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
anywho, when i purchased our '11 C300, i remember the dealership inlcuded a work order for the total Xzilion appearance protection for the entire exterior and interior of the car, and this was supposed to protect it from rock & windshield chips, UV rays, bird droppigs, blah blah blah, anywho, anybody else had this experience or have the Xzilion appearance protection? is this similar to clear bra?
when i quick detail the 204, i can feel the adhesion of the xzilion stuff
anywho, thanks guys![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

I can't say I've ever used or even heard of Xzilion products... What I will say is that I did have a similar product (can't remember what its called but I'll try and look it up) on a black car that I previously had, and in all honesty, it did actually offer some protection from paint swirls.
Basically, all it consists of is some type of paint sealant. Two concerns I would have are (1) how long does it last & (2) whether it will fade/yellow/get cloudy later. From the sounds of it, this product is too new to answer those questions.
Now, to say that it will totally protect the paint/windshield/headlight lenses from chips, I'm not sure how true that is.... I mean, if it did indeed offer such type of protection, then why would they need a "claims process" to get any repairs done in the future (though that 'warranty' maybe their testament to the product itself and in the long run, if 5 out of 10 people were to actually file a claim, then the company (Xzilion) might still be ahead of the game).
So all in all, I would compare this to the over-priced "under-carriage coating" service that some dealers may offer. It maybe good to have but ultimately, it is more about a dealer making some money (adding to or making up for some of their mark-up) than it is about some sort of revolutionary product.
Boils down to "how much is it?"

It's a paint sealant, not a clear bra. Will do jack against rock chips. Will only last maybe 3 months and it's way over priced.
