Transmission not shifting as nicely?
Well, I had my car in for routine service and got a brand new 2011 fully loaded c-class as my loaner for the entire weekend! It had just under 800miles on the clock. I never really suspected that anything was wrong with my 2009 until I jumped into the 2011 and got on it.
It seems that in my 2009 the transmission doesn't shift as nicely or smoothly as the 2011 does. Especially when under load, almost as if there is a hesitation before upshifting. Whereas the 2011 does this instantly and I barely even feel the shift, if not for the sound change in rpm.
I was wondering if possible some values have gone, or are going bad in my transmission, or is this just the nature of the beast when you get a 2009 with 32k miles on the clock?
Also, I noticed that my key is becoming increasingly difficult to get out of the ignition when I turn off my car. It lets me turn the engine off and click once, but it doesn't let me have that second click that frees the key, I have to jiggle around turn back to accessory mode and off a bunch of times while moving the steering wheel and depressing the brake pedal. Perhaps I am starting to get a faulty ignition switch like so many others on here have been experiencing?

I may be wrong as 4matics aren't offered in Australia, but I'm sure that your 2009 model is fitted with the 5sp auto whilst the 2011 is now fitted with the 7sp auto.
That would definately explain the differences in the shift feel.

I think the "easy" transmission reset mentioned above is mistaking the throttle position sensor reset with a transmission re-flash.

Make sure you have the latest software flash. When W203 went to the 722.9 transmission 4Matics continued for a while with the 722.6 (5 speed)
