Right.... , anyway they make it in 0w40 and all I want to know is if it's safe to use or not .

Not on MB's recommended list. Stick with Mobil 1.

RP 0W-40 does have an ACEA A3 rating. It's not approved, but could be used with shorter oil change intervals. MB approves it only if approved oils are not available.

Unless OCD with RP rules you, best to stick with list.

For those with cold winters, consider Castrol Syntec 0W-30. Best choice for cold starts and better mpg's:
