New PPG Paint Job and A Few Other Things Goinn' On
Just had a new paint job not too long ago. I had some new side chrome strips, a new license plate bracket installed, and a shampoo – reconditioning – leather protectant inside my interior. I had a few mods I wanted to do but decided not too because it didn’t look as nice as I would like it to be.
Here she is being painted and buffed.

All the scratches, rock chips, etc are all gone now. This pic was taken 1 day after it was done. the cloudiness on the rear is not from the camera but from the clear coat and paint.

3 weeks after the job. Still look clean but not as shiny.

I had this white carbon fiber hood badge installed but opted out because the diameter was smaller than what I would like it.

I had these door pins installed as well. From my opinion, don’t waste your time with these aftermarket one because fitment can be a problem. I had mine professionally done so it wasn’t that big of a deal. However, it’s a little too much chrome for my taste so I took it off.

All I really did was slap on some black MB stickers to tone down the front bolt cover from the license plate bracket.

The one thing I know I will regret will be not getting a clear bra done since it best when you first buy the car or do a paint job.![action](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/action1.gif)
I wanted a” full front” clear bra but could not find anyone in the SD area that could do it at a reasonable price. I will kick myself in the @@##$% cause I know rock chips are bound to happen with CA freeways! If anyone know of a place for a reasonable price in the SD area then please let me know. Thanks in advance! All comments welcome!

Lol. I know what you mean, I had my ride looking like this for about 2 years now and I can't wait to lower her just a bit. I use to live in the middle of nowhere in the midwest and road conditions would not permit until now. definitely my next mod

I know it had to cure but didn't know it took that long...maybe that would give me time to find a someone who can do it for a reasonable price...thanks tank buddy

30 days is the standard for paint curing time. If it were 90 you would not be able to apply film to new cars as they hit the lots in under 90 days. I always tell my clients 30 days unless the paint shop says they baked it to speed up the process.... and then it is up to their recommendation.
