Got the Door Handle Inserts! *Pictures*

I thought I'd put my 10% off accessories coupon to use, so I went and got the chrome door handle inserts. It's been on my list since I bought the car, and I recently came across a thread here with pictures of another member's white W204 with the inserts and I loved it.

Here are some pictures of the unboxing. Once I install/mount them on the car tonight or tomorrow, I'll put up some more pictures. Enjoy

Hmmm... MB calls them Door Handle Cups on the box.

I can't believe they put a "Best Before" date on parts like this. You'd probably get chrome poisoning after that date.

Probably for the adhesive, but still laughable.

The date is for the adhesive. Any glue/solvent/tape etc has a shelf life

+1^

I wish Benz would put the chrome caps back on the Elegance/Luxury door handles themselves.

I found the "Best Before" date amusing as well, but what you guys have said makes sense. As long as the adhesive stays put once I install them, I'll be happy.

Yeah, I loved the partial chrome trim on the door handles on the W203 and even the previous E-Class if i recall correctly. Very tasteful accent.

Not for me. I hate chrome. But if you like it that is what is important.

+1 Though I have considered getting the CF ones or wrapping the chrome ones. Never seen any Cs with them so it's just a thought.

Also not a fan of chrome, but I respect different tastes. One part which does surprise me is installing more chrome on a Sport model; this mod seems more consistent with a Luxury model. Perhaps a chrome Luxury grille and stand up hood ornament might help complete the look?

I finally put them on last night but haven't gotten around to taking pictures just yet.

I'm not too crazy about chrome in general, but I think it's a tasteful addition especially on white, it's a rather subtle accent (similar to the chrome strip on the doors / sidebody). I really wanted a white car this time around but after owning it for a month, I started finding it rather plain and wanted to add just a little oomph to it while keeping it OEM.

My last car was iridium silver and I would never want to do that to an already lustrous color. And I'd never do chrome wheels - that's just not my taste.

@Sportstick: I'm seriously considering the luxury grille and hood ornament. I saw a black C300 sport with the lux grille/ornament and it looked great. Reminds me of the E-class sedan's aggressive stance. The pre-facelift W204 Luxury looks too bland and tame for my taste.

I did this. Bought a set off E-bay and wrappped it in Di-Noc CF. Looked OK for a couple of weeks then it started to turn white which is odd as I had Di-Noc in other spots on the outside of the car and they stayed fine (wheels center caps, chrome at bottom of window).

I am so glad I am over the whole CF thing.

Thanks for the pictures Ron. Think I'll just stick to the CF diffuser, lip and side mirror covers.

Post some pictures when you have time ucfbeta92.

Can I ask for the price you paid for the chromed exterior mirror housings & chromed door handle recesses. I just got the 2012 C350 and I think that both look very good on a white car.

Sure - it was $85 plus taxes. I had a 10% off coupon, so it came down to $76.50.

Call ahead, because when I went there to pick the part up, the guy tells me it's $115. I told him that can't be right because I called them the day before and the parts dept told me it was $85. He goes, "Oh, we gave you the list price then, that's cool."

Took about 5 minutes to install per handle (clean the handle cups, dry run without taking the protection off the adhesive strips and then finally putting them on).
