Canadian transmission fluid change price
Just in case someone wants to know or compare, I had a transmission fluid & filter changed at Victoria Star MB Kitchener... the cost including taxes was $412.62...
I do my own engine oil changes and was searching for the price of transmission service alone & couldn't find it... thought there might be more people like me.. so there it is.

Trans labor 1.6 hours = $174.40
Trans parts/fluid= $125.30
4MATIC Transfer case labor 1.7 hours = $185.30
4MATIC Transfer case parts/fluid=$35.40
If I've copied this correctly and done the math as well, the total was $520.40 on a E350 4MATIC. The transmission alone was $299.70. Draz, did yours include the t-case?
BTW, we're in Kitchener often for family visits. I haven't seen that many MB's around, but I do notice a few B Classes which stand out to my eye as we don't have them in the U.S. (yet).
jctevere...is your price at a dealer or indy shop? The difference is quite large!

My info is not a perfect comparison, as it's for our E, but here was the breakdown from our MB dealer at our 36,000 mile service:
Trans labor 1.6 hours = $174.40
Trans parts/fluid= $125.30
4MATIC Transfer case labor 1.7 hours = $185.30
4MATIC Transfer case parts/fluid=$35.40

The transfer case is part of the powertrain which diverts more torque from the primary drive wheels (rear) to the front wheels when slippage has occurred, providing the all wheel drive function. On the E, fluid replacement is at the 3 year/36,000 mile mark. My C is rwd, so I don't know your answer, but if you look in the maintenance section of your owner's manual, the entire schedule is well described.

As far as taking it to an INDIE, I wouldn't recommend... I have heard that the process needs special tools or something... Described on the sheet as: "Drained transmission fluid, renewed pan gaskets, flushed transmission lines, refilled with genuine MB transmission fluid, reset transmission TCU"
Although, in searching about Indie or DIY, Glyn, a fellow member, suggested that it is actually quite easy to DIY and that a new ATF fluid for about $5 a quart just got approved, going to resurrect that thread with a question...

I have always followed my service for A and B, but I am now close to 85000km and have not had a transmission flush...is it still worth while having it done or is it too late?
Thanks in advance.
