Considering a 2010 C, have a few questions

1) if the car comes with halogens, what is involved with installing OEM HID's? Do you need a new housing? Or would it be better to install an aftermarket HID kit?

2) Also on lighting, if the car has standard tails without the LED's how hard is it to install the OEM lights with the LED's? And on another note, can you install the new facelift tale lights?

You can install the facelift lights. The only problem is that you need someone with star diagnostics to program your car for them. Because if you don't, the rear foglights are always on, and there is another issue which escapes me right now. In the c63 w204 forum, they have a whole thread about it.

To install the OEM HID's you will need an entire new headlight housing. It would be far easy (and acceptable) to just install a HID kit, as our car already comes with projectors and light-cutoff (while albeit, not as good as the OEM projectors/lenses, they still get the job done safely without blinding, especially when compared to reflector headlight assemblies with HID kits.

Another round of ICE
....or if you are satisfied with the tail lamp lens appearance, you can easily replace all the incandescent bulbs with LEDs in a package sold by forum sponsor aznoptics.com. I did this and it works very well.

+1 for Azn, i think the vast majority of people on here how have done conversions have used his, they are great! and much cheaper then having to do an entire retrofit. From what i understand also if you wanted to swap your entire headlight housing for the OEM Xenon setup, your car is still not equipped to do the auto-leveling of them, which can cause problems.

great topic here.

I have a couple of questions (sorry OP for crashing in)

is the oem xenon lights just plug and play? and regarding the auto-leveling, what problems would arise regarding this?

thanks to everyone.

I think you have to get your car programmed with the Star system for the leveling system to engage and work properly on start-up.

I think I can live with an aftermarket Xenon kit, how does it work? Just some kind of new bulb\setup? How much does it cost?

Also for the AZN optics is there pics or a video somewhere?

but if im not into the leveling system (and just adjust/fix the lights to the standare legal level), so when i install the oems then it would work as normal? im only after the oem xenon look...

If you get the stock hid headlights then the auto leveling motors and stuff come with them. That's part of the high cost.
