COMAND Map Update Made Things Worse

COMAND Map Update Made Things Worse
I did the map update for the COMAND. At about 40%, it gave me a message that said that the update could not be further completed and that I should refer to the owner's manual. It ejected the disc. I put it back in and it continued 
Well now that it is done, everything seems a lot slower to respond. For instance, it keeps telling me to "please wait" whenever I click on anything in the destination menu. It goes on forever and doesnt actually get me anywhere. I remember doing this update last year and didnt notice this happening. I am wondering if it will just work itself out or if I should reinsert the CD and redo the update (if that is even possible)

its getting worse. Keypad buttons 7, 8, 9, 0 dont work on the radio screen. I did the system reset that changed the map display to default, pointing up and I cant change it to any other view such as birds eye. Voice command to set a destination does not work and says the function is currently not available. Doing it by hand does not work either and just gives me the please wait screen. Also it is showing the vehicle location a bit off than where it should be

It almost sounds like maybe some data on the hard drive became corrupt during the update. Or its getting ready to fail and all the writes during the update process pushed it near the end? Is your car still under warranty? I would take it to the dealer if so. I didn't have any problems when I ran the update. Let me know if you need the disc again and I'll ship it back to you when I get it.

Thanks Ben. I need a service A in October so yes, I might need the disc again so that they don't question the disc I used. In fact when the last guy gets it, it might just be easier for him to ship it to me and then I will return the disc to you.
