Adding the HomeLink Mirror???

Anyway possible? Anyone done it? Plug and Play or major pain? thoughts?

Plug and play. I've done it on my '09 C300.

I havent pulled my current one apart. Do both mirrors use the same 2 harnesses or is there one harness "tucked" up waiting to be used with the Homelink model?

Plug and play. I've done it with my 2010 C300. Just plug the two wires, you are ready to go.

Same two wires. One is for power and the other one is for the bluetooth mic. Plug and play. The only scary part for me was using a lot of force to pull the mirror down; it's held in place by two very heavy spring loaded pins.

Homelink Mirror has: Automatic Dimmer, Map Light, Compass, and Garage Control opener (Homelink). You can program three different controls, it could be your second house and automatic gate control.

the question is... has anyone successfully added a compass to a 2008?????

I already have homelink and autodimming but want the dang compass... havent seen anybody do it with a 2008 yet and am wondering if the compass is actually in the mirror or the directional information is fed in from the wiring harness?
