Anyone heard of/used TMC Motorsport ECU upgrade?
http://www.tmcmotorsport.com/CarProducts.aspx
They call it a tuning box which I'm assuming is really just a piggyback ECU according to how they're describing how the process works, though it also like an overpriced resistor box like you would get off ebay. Just wanna know if anyone has heard of or used from this company? Coming from Subaru's I'm more used to the varying options of ECU tuning available like Ecutek and OTS maps from local tuners, but with Benz's it seems its either Kleeman, Brabus or one of the other big names which all have ridiculous price tags attached to them. Thanks.

Thanks, according to the distributor here in Hong Kong, it's actually a preloaded map that intercepts certain signals to the engine affecting performance. I'm highly tempted to try this as it is such a financially viable option compared to kleeman, brabus etc. And from what I've read online at the Fiat Abarth and Audi forums, they all seem to be great reviews.
TCM states that because the Benz ECU is locked out, it's not possible to remap through the OBDII port (for the time being) as I'm used to with my other cars.

I haven't ordered it yet, still on the fence. While the price is very tempting I'm also wary of things that are "too good to be true" if you know what I mean. So mostly research for now. I'll update if I decide to get it. Problem is I'm hard pressed to find a dyno in Hong Kong where I can do a baseline run first before fitting the box.
Petje - Also, I recall you were about to fit the SKG free flow cat? Did you ever get around to doing so and if yes, did you take pics? And what parts do you have from Vaeth tuning company? I know they offer a ECU upgrade as well as a total package for our CGI's. What are your impressions?

Have done the cat myself also my quad Vath exhaust.
I know about the Vath tuningbox, it looks exactly the Same as the TMC box, only with a Vath sign and higher price. And since the Vath aftersales sucks, they can keep it .
The skg cat is from headers (excluding headers) till the mid silencer

i have just received my RaceChip from www.racechip.de for by W204 C180 Blue Efficiency Engine. I think it's similar....
Unfortunately my rear was crashed into last night, so the car is in the workshop.. once i installed it, I'll give a short review... probably in 3 weeks time...
