Brakes are now squealing, is it normal?
My car is 1300 KMs now, brakes start squealing the last few feet while coming to a stop. They don't make any noise at other speed, though. Is it normal? I checked the rotors, they look fine.
Thank you!
Thank you!

try wiping down your rotor and cleaning around the pad a little bit. I had a mild issue of annoying squealing the last few feet of coming to a stop but it quickly disappeared when I cleaned it. Might not work, but it's a suggestion ^^

Brake squeal can be cause by accumulated brake dust. When you wash the car, run water through the calipers and then drive it a few blocks to dry them out, thus avoiding that overnight rust spot behind the pads.

Bring you car up to highway speeds or above on a clear grid or back road, MAKE SURE NO ONE IS BEHIND YOU! then firm but smoothly press the brake engaging the abs. repeat 4 or 5 times and presto! no more noise.

Pads replaced free
Hi IMBANE: read on a M.Benz forum a post by a U.S. C-class owner(can't recall what yr his unit was) , their "A" service was at 12,000mi. He also had low speed brake squeal, along with ( as a lot of German cars) brake dust problem. When in for his A service at 13,000 mi, he complained to the service mng about it, was told, if he had brought it in before 12,000 miles there was a 'service bulletin' out on the problem... talk about steamed!
I also had this concern, when rolling to a low speed stop, the front brakes squealed. I hung my cellphone out the window pointing down at the front wheel & videoed it and made an appointment for my "A" service even though I had only 15000 km on the car ( "A" service schedule is at 20k, 2009 C class)
They replaced the front pads with an upgraded pad, no more squeal and dust reduced significantly. ( still have dust on the rears but not pushing it).
Might be worth a try , make a complaint before your first service rolls around. Good Luck.
