Slipping Tranny? Anyone else

Has happened to me and my wife; she has an '09 C300 and I have a '09 C350 both autos.

After coming to a complete stop and I accelerate the RPMs go up then nothing for a like a second then it catches and takes off giving a little tire spin. Its very rare and I doubt I will be able to get the dealer to replicate the problem in the short time they have it, but has anyone else had this issue with there W204? Have not seen and service bulletins on this.

Thanks

Take your autos to the Dealer for a new TCU sofware update, that may fix your problem.

Please note that you have to be patient with these cars. Does it only do this if you slip the car out of Drive? If so you need to wait a few seconds after selecting Drive for it to engage properly before accelerating or it will rev & then ****** with a thunk & possible wheelspin.

OK Get the latest transmission flash & make sure you have the 39K transmission service done & do it every 39K like ROW. Filled for life is nonsense.

Other things that can cause what you describe.

- Slightly low transmission fluid level. Your cars have the new transmission pan & spill tube that raises fluid level but it might be low.

- Slightly blocked transmission filter. If the differential across the filter media rises it can cause a delay in the system coming up to full pressure.

Good luck!

I have a phenomenon that appears to be the transmission slipping. It only happens the FIRST time that the car shifts from 2nd -> 3rd after being started. The rpms rise about 500 and it is an unpleasant jerky feeling. This is usually accompanied with a spring release sound from what appears to be by my feet in the driver side area. Then after that everything is fine. It appears to be some valve related error? Any suggestions?

Hey Glyn- I got a question for you:

Does the transmission flash address both Sport (S) mode and Comfort (C) Mode?

I got the latest transmission flash done but on the service report it said that it was done only to address the choppy/jerky shifts in S Mode...

Do I need to go back and get the Flash done to C Mode as well? Or does the flash address both C and S?

Thanks in advance!

The transmission flash addresses both C and S mode. They simply wrote that it was done to address the undesired movements/shifts that you experienced in Sport mode (assuming it didn't do it in Comfort - but if it had, that would be fixed too).

+1^ The biggest difference in the new flash is that the car comes to a halt in second gear & then changes to first in Sport mode to pull away again. While they have remapped the whole transmission the change down to first gear when pulling up quickly caused the biggest jerk.
