Your dealer's badge
Even as a kid, I remember Benzel Busch having a pretty good looking three dimensional multi-color medallion.
Have they changed it to a black/silver flat sticker?
If so it joins the ranks of Prestige's boring badge; deserving of immediate removal.
Actually, since my car is not built yet, I'm going to make sure it never gets installed.

Yeah, just tell them to not install it. I've never cared for dealer badges or plates. Surprised more people don't at least remove the tacky license plate frames. Why should you drive around as an advertisement without getting paid for it? I'll do word of mouth... or not if the dealer is good. I told the dealership not to badge the my new car but they did it anyway. But the salesperson sent it back to detail and they removed it no problem.

first things that come off on a new car are the dealer frames and their stupid badging. I dont even get why they do that. I am not buying anything cause someone else got it there. If they have what I want for the right price thats the only way. Does someone pull up behind a car and say wow that is nice I wonder where they got that? Ooooh at prestige in jerzey, lets go there and get one too? I dont get it, seems it costs them money to install and even buy them in bulk for hundreds of cars they sell for what? Catena in edison badged my 2008 when I took it out of the showroom it was already on. Intercar is where I got my 2011 and it was imported from outta state never got badged or plate framed. Was convenient to not have to remove them...

Salesmonkey: But don't you want to let people know who gave you a great deal?
Me: Do I get relieve on your advertising fee that you are trying to slip into the negotiations claiming its part of every car purchased from you?
Salesmonkey: MB puts that on there. I can't remove it. We are already too low.
Me: Remove the sticker and tag or pay me for advertising. $0.01 per mile sounds good. What do you think?
Salesmonkey: Rumble, rumble under his breath.

Being a MB salesmonkey, I hate to sound like a... nozzle afixed to a femanine cleaning product that uses water.... but are you going to buy it from the factory? No. Dealers will badge there cars for pride and yes, for advertising too. I highly recommend removing the badge if you had a bad experience. But if the plate cover is nice (metal), I leave em on.

Maybe on a domestic car but not for a Benz. The dealer is only a middle man. They do not design, build, warrant or buy the vehicle. If they really cared so much they might want to think about something better than a $0.05 sticker with their name on it.
All dealer references came off upon arrival at home. A hair drier helps with removal it the sticker is stubborn.

That's even worse IMO. Stands out even more. All boils down to advertising for the dealership, period. Pride? C'mon. "Sponsor" me for advertising for you by way of service credit and I'll think about it. License plate frames are innocuous enough perhaps for most, but are still the first thing that comes off for me.

Frames are OK I'll have them off before I leave the dealers lot. I have refused delivery of cars in the past when a badge was put on and the saleman was told no badges. I always inspect a new car before signing anything.

+1 Removed the Helms Bros. plate frames on both the E and C...
I don't see it as stupid advertising as much as I see it as plain ugly.

LMFAO... Only car guys get this one. If you have to explain it to someone then the cars only a mode of transportation to them! Car guys remove their dealer stickers and plates, mod their cars, and take the time to look for that-just-right spot to park in. People who don't remove their dealer stickers are the same ones you see parking their cars anywhere they can in parking lots just to be close to the entrance. You know these people, LOL!

I peeled that ugly dealer badge off and flipped the dealer plate holder around, right in front of the salesperson, before I even drove out of the dealer's lot.
Always the very first mod!
