Purchase price discussions

I couldn't find this discussion anywhere, are/will/can this forum discuss pricing information?? I am wondering what price others paid for their MB, specifically 2012 c250 sport sedan in US or Canada.

I understand the different factors and other sites available (time of yr, options, location, zag, truecar, etc...), I am more interested in what others paid for what they got. I found that those sites have the pricing but not sure if they are accurate enough....

Thx.

Good evening. The current incentives on the c-class allowed for purchase about $2000 under invoice or roughly $4000 off MSRP. If you dont take pleasure in haggling (which I don't) i'd highly recommend a car buying service through either your insurance company, COSTCO, or your credit union. I used the USAA service and they give you the absolutely lowest price on the vehicle with a certificate that goes to the dealership for that price. They can even arrange your finances and paperwork and have the car dropped off to you that day.

cheers! mike

may I ask how much you paid for yours and what options?

and what do you mean by "current incentives on the c-class allowed for purchase", do you mean the actual dealer cost (or they called that net cost)?

thanks for the info, I actually didnt use any of those and I quoted mine off the local dealer internet sales dept through truecar. I actually bought it already, but I want to understand more why the dealer broke down my discount the way they did (I understand they get kickback from factory, but wonder if there are more reason to it). Also I want to know if the price I paid actually is below dealer/net cost.

congrats on your new car too!

Sure,
The MSRP was approximately 39,500 and I purchased the car for approximately 35,400. The supposed dealer cost is usually referred to as "invoice" and that was approximately 37,200 if I recall correctly. The incentives I specifically recall seeing was a $2000 incentive from MB to the dealership but i'm sure there was another incentive for them to let the car go at this price. The car had the premium 1 package, the single disc DVD/NAV, and the Burl Walnut trim.
cheers! mike

thanks mike!

actually dealer cost ≠ invoice; from what i researched dealer cost usually is 5-10% less than invoice depends on incentives:

dealer's actual cost = ( invoice price - factory to dealer incentives - factory holdback)

that means factory holdback would be 2-3% of msrp....

the one i got was 39405 msrp (p1 pkg, single disc dvd/nav, trunk lid spoiler, aluminum trim) and i manage to get them down to 33055...but they made sure i qualify for the 2000 conquest incentive first (if u own an acura/lexus/bmw/porsche/infinity/jag/landrover/audi). so from the way they broke the discount down, looks like they can claim that back from factory and they dont need to absorb the cost...

from my calculation w/ ~3% factory hold back that means dealer cost is 33952...i think i got a great deal but i am not sure if this is true or not, and therefore my question of if the calculation is right that means it's below dealer cost and they just got my business for b/c of their quota....

the way they broke it down (4350 "customer discount" + 2000 "rebate"), i had to pay the tax for the 2000 - b/c it is a "rebate"....

p.s.
1. the other thing is truecar actually didnt factor in the 2000 incentive and said 35952 is the dealer cost, which i think they should correct this.....
2. i still need to make my money stretch so i wished i could have saved the extra 170 that i paid for tax if they had not done it that way...
3. i started this thread hoping to let other perspective buyers know different prices others paid so they can make more of an informed decision.....i couldnt find much before i bought mine so i thought i'd do it....

Remember, the rebate/incentive/winter sale interest rate and money factory for lease end tomorrow. Not sure you are purchase or lease, just need to act fast...unless you want to wait for Dec. incentive comes out.
My MSRP $43,890 w/P1, Navi, Lighting (must have), AMG 18", Rear trunk spoiler, Burl wood, Keyless Go, Rear Camera, metallic paint. Sales price $36,520. I get $2k MBFS loyalty incentive and $1500 employee discount on fleet employee program.
Also ask for dealer employee pricing on pre-pay Star service plan. I paid 2 yr for $252, otherwise close to $500 for 2 services, A & B.

looks like u can use ur company to take adv. of the fleet program....good for u......

in my case i couldnt since i dont work for a company that is part of the program...(MAYBE they are but i dont think low level employees get to use it)....

either way....i agree to take adv. of the winter's sales event w/ lower pricing and low financing....most likely there will be one when dec end comes......take adv. of it if u plan to get one soon..

i wished i coulda gotten AMG 18 + lighting package too....but my goal was to get the car for <34000 w/ the needed options and got it w/ the great deal.......so im happy w/ my purchase......glad u got them....

Actually all employee are eligible...even lowest level, as long as you are full time employee. I think most big corp. has this fleet program with MB.

You got a great deal! Congrat!!
Maybe we should setup a price paid discussion to benefit everyone who are looking for new Cs?

C250 Lunar Blue Almon Mocha

After reading this forum, I guess its the Winter Sales Event that brings down the prices.

I was shocked at the price I got. Had to post on this thread because have been reading it for about 6 mth. I simply called with my specs and they gave me a price more than 4000 off MSRP and then I negotiated a price 500 less than that with mats and Deal ended up being 5000 off MSRP. Ive looked at websites and its 2000 off invoice. Was more than happy to make the deal below are the Details. The Dealer was Mercedes benz West Cheater PA

c250 Sport Lunar Blue
Almond Mocha Interior

Lunar Blue 720
P01 Pack 2500
Command Launch S32 930
Rearview Camera 460
Burl Walnut 325
Keyless Go 650
Destin Delivery 875

MSRP 41260
Got them down to
36400 (Plus tax and Registration) with 1.9 percent for 66 mths, All Weather Mats and Cargo liner. Plus tax and Registration

Am Happy!!!

Sam

Congrats for new car with rare color! It's amazing how much discount on 2012 but MB did jack up the price by creating more toys (options) to add.... Enjoy!!
