Hood Emblem replacement. NEED HELP

hello,

can someone that replaced their emblem tell me:

how'd you guys secure the emblem? (what did you use?)
(I just purchased a flat hood emblem for my W204. (JBspeed) it is very nice quality emblem. but it only came with two screws)

currently my car has a upright star.
when i took the upright star out (by turning 45 degrees from the bottom portion of the hood) i'm left with a big hole. similar to this guy's DIY
https://mbworld.org/forums/c32-amg-c...ood-badge.html
but i do not have the winged nut and the washers.

please help!
any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

thank you,

thank you Glyn.
i was thinking it was just "take emblem off.. put new one in... DONE"
the emblem is bigger than the actual hole.
also the hood is not flat, but the emblem is so i dont see how this will work.
i might have to just drop this one and maybe find an OEM part from MB.
so sad.

Check out on this forum the badge from DFWDude. It is not inexpensive, but the fit and handwork are impressive. It sits in the divot stamped in the hood, not on top, like the original badge, and is made from the base of an OE ornament...read his posts and you will see the detail.

Why not just email JBspeed? I am sure they would help/explain.

Couple of emails to brian@jbspeed was basically w204 hood emblem only comes with 2 screws and ask people on this forum for help. I figure maybe I can Jerry rig it and make it fit but didn't have time. (didnt like the fact that it might not fit perfectly on the pivot of the hood) I asked if I can return it but he gave me a Taiwan return address. Shipping back would probably cost more or about the same $$$$ as my refund so Im SOL.

Well, that's not very nice of JBspeed. Site sponsor too.

Hope this is a warning to other forum members- buy elsewhere!!!

Sorry you're out of pocket

i'm in no way bashing JBSpeed. he was quick to response (actually came online to chat) and gave me options. his emblem was good quality.. i was expecting something different.. that's all.
