Has anyone on here picked up a 2012 in Sapphire Grey yet?

My car is being built in 10 days - so it's not like I could change it, but I am set on the color regardless. That said, I have found a few pics through a google image search - but I still have yet to see either a GLK or a C in Sapphire grey yet on a lot around here. Everything is black, white or silver it seems.

When we selected a color, we could see most colors on various cars on the lot. I was very interested in the Sapphire. All the dealer had were brochures and a TV monitor. Palladium, on an SLK right in front of me, won out. I hope I never see a Sapphire car. I don't want to fall into the "coulda, woulda, shoulda" trap.
Go for it. You will have the only one. Palladium is probably second rarist. All of the GLKs I see are black, white or red. Ours stands out.

We took delivery of a 2012 C350 in that color at Thanksgiving. In the shade it looks similar to the palladium silver we had on our 2008 C350. In the sun, the color comes out as a metallic blue-green, but very light, not overdone. My wife picked this color from internet swatches, and she really likes it. Personal taste, but we've received a number of compliments. It has ash leather interior, which goes well with this color I think. P.S.: So far this car is terrific, and the added safety features are a plus. The Comand system is much improved. Our 2008 was best car we've ever owned and I'm hoping for a repeat performance. Good lord... I kept passing that thumbnail up on google search because I thought it was one I had already looked at. That's my exact car except for the wheels, and mine has a reverse cam (and no ridiculous wheel locks...).

Thanks for the find - first ash with aluminum facelifted 204 I have seen.

Go to Cars.com, go to new cars and put in what you're searching. Filter the results so you see "most pictures first" and then you will have an abundance of cars to look at in Sapphire Grey!

Hey... Bethesda MD Merc guy... go stop by Mercedes of Silver Spring, they have a C300 4Matic Sport in Sapphire Grey in their lot for you to look at... I looked it over, sorry to say I wan't very impressed with it... too much like an old Ford Thunderbird color IMO... maybe on the Luxury Sedan. To my disappointment the color looks better in the pix above than in person. I like the color it replaced much better ... steel gray.

I may have to roll out there tomorrow evening or such and take a look.

I lived right across the way from there on Castle when I first moved to DC and didn't know any better - I'd rather not traipse around in the dark over there... at least not without my 9mm

That said, I never was too crazy about Steel Grey - so maybe it will work better for me. There was a mineral green/greyish color on the W203 that I liked a lot - which is kind of what led me to pick Sapphire. Why they don't offer a green on the W204 is beyond me.

Reviving my own thread here...

I decided to take the smart out for a drive and headed over to MB of Silver Spring. They've got 2 Sapphire Grey C250s on their lot - one of which looks like it is being hidden for someone, and the other was wedged between 2 used Es.

I gotta say, I really like how it looks in person. Better than pictures - the green in it seemed much more apparent to me. I dunno why it doesn't seem to be more popular, but I definitely made the right choice for me.

I'm not too worried about it. I drive about 5,000 miles a year - but I am definitely going to keep an eye on it. If it starts having problems under warranty and they don't want to fix it, I'll run them up the flagpole legally - there's enough evidence out there that they don't have a case.

That said, if it is going to become a problem with these engines, I'm reasonably certain a lot of people are going to have issues long before I am due to my light usage.

By the way, of all genuine MB wheels available for C-Class, I like the one in the above picture the best.

I don't mind the 5 spokes above - they aren't my favorite though.

I went with the 7 spokes on mine because they reminded me of the 190E Evo wheels

I hated the new 17" sport sedan wheels at first - that said they are growing on me now. I'm still glad I went with the ones I did though.
