Upgrade to Xenon headlights

Hi I have a 2012 C300 that did not come with xenon lights, does anyone have an idea about how much it would cost to switch them out? I'm not looking to go non-OEM since the car is new.

Also, a little off topic, can MBrace be added?

are you asking how much does a custom retrofit cost? or are you looking for the plug in play kit.

The plug and plug kit, prefer something that swaps the current lens/bulb with new.

I also have a 2012 C300 with halogen headlights so I ventured to Laurel MB and inquired about switching to the factory xenon headlights. Meaning the whole headlight.

Here are the part numbers for the factory left and right xenon headlights;
204 820 3359
204 820 3459

I hope you are sitting down because each headlight is $1780.

Here are some questions that they couldn't answer;

What is the difference in halogen and xenon wiring, besides the power that is supplied to the bulbs?

Since xenon model headlights come with adaptive steering do our cars;
a. Come with wiring from the factory so it can be used?
b. If they don't, would auto-leveling be possible?
c. Cost and/or possibility of ECU flash to accept xenons.

Aznoptics does a great kit. I have them in mine as to many many people on here. Runs like $175 for the kit

I'm sorry I didn't mean for xenon or HID bulbs. I meant the whole headlight, projector headlights that is.

If you just want HIDs, then get a kit that comes with a ballast, but be warned that the light quality coming from a reflector-type headlight is not the same as a illegitimate projector-type headlight. Also note that on the '12s, the lighting package includes LED bars on the headlight that you otherwise wouldn't have as well as LED turn signals that are built into the headlight assembly. With that said, it would be a major pain to purchase the OEM headlight and try to wire it up correctly.

This is the exact reason why I made sure to purchase my '12 with the lighting package, as it would become a headache to do a retrofit.

I ran into the same issue of not being able to locate a 2012 with lighting package and not being patient enough to order.

I am looking into have projectors retrofitted. I have received a few quotes already ranging from 800-1200 total for both headlights.

If anyone else is interested maybe we could bargain for a group rate?

Are these the OEM projectors for the 2012? And are these quotes from MB dealerships? Does it include installation?

I'm definitely interested in a group buy but would like to know more what's included in the deal.

Thanks,

the retrofit would be an aftermarket projector in place of the low beam unit. This would be a bi-xenon projector, so activating the high beams would open the projector shutter and blast the normal high beams. in place of the parking light you could use AZN leds.

the rest of the head light would be unaffected...this would be a good solution until OEM headlamps are affordable.

You still talking about this OEM BiXenon thing? There have been several threads on this forum in the last few weeks.. even I posted that my shop (which I own) priced out the job, and at my cost, it was just under $7K bucks!

Forget about it!

Can you please give me some info about installing Bi-Xenon in my S 430, year 2001. I have the original Halogen Headlights and actually I am thinking to install OEM Bi-xENON since I found a good price from a friend of mine in Germany. These Headlights are New. After that I heard that these Headlights are not " plug & play " in my car .
1-Is that possible , that I can install these Headlights in my car without a new wiring ?
2-Do I have to install something else that helps to make the Bi-Xenon fit in my car?

Thanks

i believe it's more than just the lights. You'd have to change the connectors and harness as well i think.

Am I reading this right that the OEM connectors are the same but the OEM lights did not work in a non xenon car?

You'll need a new bumper as well with the built in washer units.

I have retrofitted factory ILS BiXenon headlamps to my 2013 C350 Coupe. It will cost over $5000 by the time you are done.

You will need the headlamp units, front and rear level sensors wiring, control units, multifunction camera in the windshield (plus a new windshield, since the bracket for the camera and the camera view area is different than on the non-bixenon lights). If you also want to add the headlamp washers, then you also have to get new washer bottle, spray motor, headlamp washers, and tubing, and a new front bumper cover and flaps.

The wiring connector is the same, but the wire pins are completely different than those on the halogen units.

In addition, you have to find someone to add the codes into the Vedoc for your car, and also to program the control units and the car itself when you are done.

Ok so that's a no! I basically wanted to know I the pins were the same. Don't care about all the other crap just wanted the lights to work. Sounds like just repinning the clips it still won't work right because of the computer.
