Total Cost of Ownership

Thought I would provide some info for those considering buying a w204 c class.

Here are my service costs thus far :

Bought CPO with < 10k miles ( 7/09 )

$168 replace front mesh ( 10/09 )
$570 B service and brake fluid flush ( 5/10 )
$438 A service and trans flush ( 4/11 )
$542 replace rear tires ( 4/11 )
$673 B service, brake fluid flush, replace rear pads ( 5/12 )

$2391 total ( about $600 per year )

Regards,

Nick

if you went to benz to replace rear tires. Than that's not smart cost of ownership. But thanks for the info especially with flush services.

Are people afraid to work on their cars? I can see having them do the trans flush and maybe the brake flush if you dont have the stuff to do it, but having them change your oil and brakes? I enjoy working on my cars, I have never taken any of my cars to a dealer unless it was for a warranty repair.

DonJuan,

I was equally suprised the dealer ended up being cheaper for tires than tire rack :

Marine,

I have neither the tools nor the knowledge to work on my car ( or the time for that matter ) but I agree that would be beneficial not only from a financial perspective but also for the piece of mind that the work has been performed correctly.
