Changed Plugs Today

Changed my plugs at 127,570 miles. It was the easiest spark plug change of any car I have ever worked on. I bought NGK 4288 spark plugs for $88 shipped. It took me 30 minutes to change them all. Really simple. Save yourself $200+ in labor at the MB dealer.

Car is much more responsive off the line. Idle is quieter and smoother. Kinda feels weird because my car has never run like this before. LOL!

Trying to remember but isn't the spark plug change interval suppose to be 90,000 miles?

I kept asking the dealer if I should change it and they kept saying "No". So I figured since they didnt want to take my money it was ok. Lol!

Someone either never owned a muscle car or is exaggerating.

Those plugs look extremely worn out. I wonder why they were against changing the plugs. Are the oem plugs NGK or Bosch?

$10 per spark plug is on the higher end of the spectrum, but not too surprising for a MB. Where'd you get your plugs from and what brand were they?

What's the gap on those things? The second from right is REALLY gone. why did you wait so long, anyway? When the V6 first showed up (W210 and ML) the recommendation was 100K miles.

Given that dealers are in business to make money, it's hard to believe that they would recommend leaving the plugs in to the point where the center electrode is burned up and the gaps are far beyond spec.

127,570 miles? They were well overdue for replacement.

That filter looks fresh though.

Maybe they were hoping it'd cause more damage? it sounds very malicious but we can only guess as to why they didn't want to make quick $$$

At least it looks like the spark plugs have normal wear and theres no signs of engine problems
