Grille Opinions

Alright guys I am considering getting an aftermarket grille and need some input from you guys.

Which grille do you guys think would look the best on a white c350? Please vote.

Here are the options:

1. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Mercedes-W204...ht_1982wt_1189

2. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Mercedes-W204...ht_1961wt_1141

If you guys have any other opinions then I'd be happy to check those out as well.

That is one of the options I guess but I want to do something that's noticeable. I changed the side markers and license plate lights but those are such subtle mods. I would like to do something that is more noticeable and just changing the colour of just the inserts isn't necessarily gonna make much difference is what I am thinking.

I voted for #2, on the premise of painting the first surfaces white, including the star, leaving the interior of the barrel behind the star and the mesh black. If your mind's eye can sub white for palladium, here is the effect:

Not the best picture but here is option one. I like the solid piece behind the star.

Option 2... but it will look nicer if your headlights are darker with maybe Lamin-x overlays...

However, Option 2 grill fitment may not be spot on.

I like this too! Where'd you get that?

I like sportstick suggestion as well, but my problem is that I want to get away from the two fin look. That looks way too stock for my taste, so I want to do something that would be noticeably different.

Sorry I was not clear. Take the second grille, with one fin, and give it the same treatment I showed, but in your matching white!

Ohhhh you mean buy the matte black one and get it painted white?

Hmm...I wonder how that would look.

Sort of like mine, except one fin....and white! The photos help show the monochromatic concept, but you have to visualize the color shift and minus a fin!

Just mod your original grille. If you want it to be more dramatic, black the whole thing out like I did:

Did you get that professionally painted? Gloss on the chrome part and matte on inside or does it just look like that cause of the finish under it? I suck it painting and stuff so I would probably have to take that to a shop. Any rough idea about the cost? I do like the blacked out look, always have.

Yes, matte on the slats, and gloss on the chrome bits to give the black a bit of a contrast. You can try doing it yourself first and if it doesn't work out well, you can always then take it to a shop to get sanded and painted. Prices will vary greatly by region, so just shop around body shops to get a local quote.

Honestly, I wouldn't even know where to start doing it myself. I suppose if there was a DIY that shows how to do it I might have better luck.

So my only option is to shop around and see where I can get it done I guess. Shouldn't be more than $100 or so I would think? Although, I have no idea how expensive/cheap it is to get paint and stuff.
