Question SPACERS - H&R vs. Generic eBay ($52 w/bolts) - Any Concerns? (see product link)

http://www.ebay.com/itm/HUBCENTRIC-W...ht_4326wt_1346

If I buy these versus the name brand H&Rs, do any of you that know your wheels/offsets/etc (I don't know much at all) have any concerns on the design or will there be any functional differences versus the H&R?

I am just looking to get tiny 5mm spacers on my rear OEM 18" wheels so they are flush...

Thanks for your help

RB

Specs look right, so you're really just looking at build quality. If it's off even slightly, you're gonna have ton of wheel vibration. At $52 for generic, I'd rather just stick with Trak+ and buy my own bolts as price difference is negligible.

thanks mike... you know what size bolts I will need with the stock wheels and 5mm or 10mm spacers in the rear?

also, what is difference between ball and conical bolts on our cars and why should you pick one over the other?

I notice 5mm sets dont have the lip that larger spacers have:

5mm

10mm with lip

And after reading this thread that talks about 5mm spacers vibrating a ton and causing nothing but problems:https://mbworld.org/forums/clk-class...vibration.html

Is there anybody here running 5mm spacers successfully? If not, I guess I will go with 10s, even though it might be too much

10mm will have lip because there's not enough space left on the hub to safely support the wheel. 5mm shouldn't have any issues which is why there's no lip. The bolt seat will depend on wheels as some wheels use ball and some use conical. As for thread length, just take your stock bolt, measure it, and add the size of the spacer to determine the thread length you want. Also pay attention to the shank length when you measure.

what about this thread where people say 5mm are a waste of time and too risky for vibrating?

I'm not running spacers on my MB, but have them on my other vehicles. I haven't had any vibrations so far, but they're properly prepped and cleaned prior to install.

was talking more about 5mm spacers specifically... since people in that thread specifically mentioned 5mm might vibrate and to go with a minimum of 10mm instead
