What a long couple of weeks it has been for the Benz and myself.

Hey everyone,

I have not had the greatest past couple of weeks. I was on my way to work on 7/17 when I was involved in an accident. I was sitting with my blinker on waiting to take a left turn, I happened to look into my rear view mirror and see a mini van about three feet away from me going full speed. There was nothing I could do and she hit me going 40 MPH. She drove through me like I was not even there, I was hit so hard that I was bounced into oncoming traffic where I was hit head on by another car doing 40 MPH. I was transported to the hospital with some injuries, the worst being some muscle damage in my foot from it being on the brake pedal while I was hit. I DID have my seat belt on.

The driver of the minivan admitted to being distracted and is at fault for the entire accident. The Benz did not fare very well but it did save me from being in rough shape. The car took the damage like a champ, it is a total loss at this point and I will be removing anything I can from in before it is hauled off to the scrap yard.

I had just put a C63 front end, Morello fenders and the new headlights on it. It is devastating but I am happy to be alive.

Here are some pics-

There will be one less Mars red C300 on the road which is bad news.

On a bit of a better note, I purchased a Arctic White C350 last night with 15k miles on it. The car is immaculate and with the wonderful 1.99% financing my payment is actually going to be lower.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what to expect for differences. Here is the build sheet for the new car. I believe it has everything they offered, please let me know if I am wrong here.

Are you allowed to salvage any random scraps from teh car?
I'm a big fan of refinishing other peoples junk.. if you wanna yank of your exhuast tipes i'd take them all damaged and stuff - or anything else?

Idk, sounds like a fun project to tinker with stuff and see how it will turn out.

OH, and by the way, good to hear youre doing alright, that sounds like a pretty nasty wreck - glad youre okay!

I can only remove items that I can replace with factory parts. I did keep a bunch of the stock items but the tips where not one of them. I will have a pretty significant list of stuff for sale soon.

Stay tuned and thanks!

Glad to hear you are fine and the safety of the MB came through. I used to really like your car, the red/ black was really nice.

I have a 2012 C350 And I think you will really like the extra power of the 350. I've been very happy.

Jeeze. Glad you're ok. No matter how careful a driver you are, there's always some tool that can ruin your day. That was def a nice car and it's sad to see it in that condition. You'll come back bigger and better.

Thanks to everyone who responded.

The woman who hit me did have 2 kids in the car. I believe that is what distracted her before she hit me. She was insured as well.

I will be taking whatever I can off the car including the front lip. I will be selling it along with a bunch of other things that I will no longer need.

I am looking forward to the new car. Next Thursday can't come soon enough!
