Interior carbon fiber trim?

Has anyone done a mod like this? Apparently it is 3M tape'd on top of whatever trim you have. Easy to get rid of glue if done? Let me know if this is any good, or to avoid it.

There is a company that makes a CF int trim kit, I can't remember the name currently but it's very $$$. You can search as I know I've seen it mentioned on the board before.

Aside from the pop up portion above the radio, the rest of the kits seems ok. At least all the weaves are going in the same direction.

I looked into this option before opting to go with a true carbon interior where my factory wood pieces were shaved down and redone in real CF. The reason I avoided the above kit (or similar kits) is because at the end of the day, it's still an overlay. It simply doesn't have the fit and finish that a factory trim piece would have. I've seen my fair share of these types of overlays before, and even own sets like these in the past, and while they may look nice from far away, when you're up close there's just a ton of small things that are off. If you're not really a detail type of person and just want to have a cheap CF interior, then this is a good choice, but if you're a stickler for the details and want things to be nice then it's better to look at alternative trim solutions such as a true carbon fiber kit replacement.

Keep in mind that the above kit is very inexpensive while doing a true CF trim swap will cost you somewhere under $2,000. Another very popular option is doing the 3M DiNoc wrap which will run you a couple hundred to get professionally done. But IMO the vinyl wraps are very cheap looking. It's quite obvious that it's not real carbon fiber and it has a texture to it so it doesn't feel real either. It's very popular right now which is a testament to how many people like it, but it's just not my cup of tea.

Btw, any info on the TW company you used for the CF work?

It's in my build thread link on the first page. But I used DCT MS located in California. They did great work to my pieces!

I installed the just the center section of the dash from the vents down to the heated seats panel. I think these panels look unfinished and even if you opt for the extremely overpriced CF trim kit- these panels are not covered. When I posted pics years ago asking members opinions- they were mixed. Now- everyone who sees it in person loves it and asks how they can do it for their cars. I have the black and grey interior so I think the CF is subtle enough where it doesn't look out of place. It also compliments all of the exterior CF parts I have installed. All the pieces from the kits look good except the piece on teh top flip-up cover. That definitely looks out-of-place.

Is it easy to remove regarding glue, etc.? If you can take some pics, it would be great to see what it looks like, the way you set it up (without the vents/flip-up piece). I was mainly looking at it since it covers these dash panels that mostly all other CF sets don't.

I had this on my 2008. Looked OK not as good as real replacement pieces. A real PIA to remove so if you decide to go this route be prepared. When I traded the 08 in on the 11 I was originally going to remove it but after doing a couple of the smaller pieces I said forget it and left it on.

Carbon Fiber Trim Vinyl

Here is a crosspost that I did on wrapping my trim with CF vinyl. Super easy and very cost effective.
