Returning to Mercedes

After nearly seven years without a car (live in NYC), I going to buy a car as I am moving in the near future.
I've started looking at C classes (used to own a 2004 C230 SS). I found a really nice, brand new, 2012 C 250 @ a dealership. Stats are: special order that didn't go through, silver, fully loaded (navi, rear view camera, h/k stereo, 18" AMG wheels, bix, Keyless Go, etc).
How is the 4 cyc turbo? Does it idle loud / rough?
Dealership is asking ~$43k. Sticker is ~$49k. It doesn't sound unreasonable, but it feels high given (i) it's a 2012, (ii) they've had in on the lot for over 6 months, (iii) forthcoming C class redesign (2014, right?). I'd like to get the car sub-$40k.
What do you guys think? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your help!

Perspective - I got my 2013 C250 Luxury, Premium 1 Pack, Multimedia Package (NAV/rear camera) for $37600. MSRP was $42600 or so. I would think a 2012 should be less expensive than a 2013. Only thing you have extra is KeyLess Go and AMG wheels? Not sure what you mean by "bix".
No, the car doesn't idle rough at all. It's actually very smooth at idle and throughout the rev range.
Good luck.
If you can wait for the '14 model then that would be a good idea. But it seems like you need a car ASAP so this would be a good buy. Thats a lot of car your getting for 43k. I think if you play your cards right, you can probably get ~41k for it.
Good luck and those options are some that I regret not getting. Totally worth it.

I am definitely psyched by the idea of having a car again. $43k was their first offer, so I think there is room to go down further. I am definitely not in a rush - I need the car for June, so I might float a number that I think is more reasonable ($37k to $39k) and let them sit on it for a month or so. If they sell it to someone else, no big deal. If they don't, then I will buy it.
Car also has paddle shifters (not sure the purpose for a 4cyc!), Leather Seating Package, Advanced Agility Package (what is this), Lane Tracking Package (is this worthless?)
Also, if I buy the car all cash, will that help my cause?
Thanks again

I can see MB perhaps giving it an upgraded engine next year, but I don't see it changing much otherwise until the redesign for MY 2015.
The engine is pretty rough when cold and makes a distinct ticking noise. It smooths out considerably when warmed up, but you'll never mistake it for anything but a (very refined) turbo 4-cylinder....
BTW, $41,000 - 42,000 seems like a more reasonable offer to me. Not sure why you expect $10,000+ off on a car that's not quite $50,000 MSRP and not out-of-date, even if it's been on the dealer lot for a long time. From what I can remember, MB (at least in LA) was easily offering $10,000+ off on 2009 E350s, but that was when the new 2010 replacements had already been announced and were close to shipping (and the MSRPs were $50,000+).

Good Luck.
2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 (facelift), 2013 (facelift), 2014 (facelift)
That is always the format for these models. They go 4 years, then 3 years of the facelift model, and then an all new model. 7 Model Years seems like forever, but it's amazing it goes faster than you think. ha.
