Exclamation HELP! Vibration / Woobing High Speed

Good Evening,

Last week I brought my 2012 C300 4Matic into the shop, I told them there was a vibration / woobing noise between 70-76MPH, they told me it was my 2 bent rims and needed a high speed balance, They fixed the wheels and rebalanced the wheels and I went to go pick up the vehicle and it is still not fixed and the tech does not know what it could be. any help would be great.

Thanks

You car is new. Go to the MB dealer and tell them the problem. It should be warranted.

It could be the crap stock tires. What brand tires do you have?

You stated two wheels are actually bent. Did they actually try to straighten the wheels or did they just try to re-balance? How long was the car in the shop? If it was for a couple hours, then they didn't try to fix the bends. If the shop was the dealership, they certainly didn't fix the bends since I don't believe any dealership wants to take on the liability involved.
You need to go to a specialist who straightens wheels to see if they can be fixed or buy new ones outright.

My dealership won't straighten my bent rims either. I have a vibration between 70-80 mph due to three bent rims. At first I went to balance my wheels, didn't fix the problem, took the car back and they showed me my wheels are bent. They said they could recommend a place that will straighten wheels for $200 each, but couldn't do it there.

My car has been in the shop for 6 days they have re straighten out the bent rims and done 3 high speed balances and they are just trying to figure out what it may be. I do have continental tires OE that came on them i have driven several loaner cars with same rims and tires and they do not make the noise.

Separated belt in tire perhaps?

I suspect the word he is looking for is "wobbling"...

Still the wheels IMO. Bent wheels cannot be 100% straightened. Depending on the severity of the bends, the fix may be good enough, but since you had two wheels bent/fixed, the combo may never yield non-vibrating results.
Def check the tires, but if they're ok, try using the spare or two diff wheels all together to see if the wobble goes away.

If you have bent rims, you could easily have damaged tires, that look fine and balance fine.
You need them road forced balanced as this is the only way to replicate the dynamics of actually being driven on the street.
