Automatic transmission fluid.
Hi,![crazy](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/crazy.gif)
I am a new owner of a 2009 w204 c220 CDI no dpf.
It is a beautiful ride and without a doubt more comfortable then my old BMW.
I have a question regarding the auto transmission fluid. I have heard it requires one change at 37k.
The Mercedes Electronic service sheet suggests an ATF change when entering the car as c220 Blue eff.
However when entering the car as c220 cdi it does not mention the ATF fluid change at all.
I was hoping someone would be able to help clarify the issue? The dealer was not helpful and just said go by service sheet?
Many thanks

Yea, I noticed this problem also. Some places will list info on the CDi engine but not CGi and other places vice versa. It's quite annoying. I would follow the 37k interval change just to be on the safe side. I would assume that since Diesel puts out more tq than a petrol engine it's possibly more strain on your tranny than compared to a petrol.

For long & troublefree service change ATF & filter every 39K miles or 60K Km's.

Sorry to hijack but quick question, I changed mine at 30km because of the amount of city driving during the day my wife does and the hard driving I do in the mountains at night on the weekends. Is there an ill effect to this?

many thanks for replies they were very helpful.
Mercedes huddersfield did not recommend a change at 37k. However it appears they were only following the ESS guide sheet. They did however say they could change the transmission fluid if I wanted so.
The reasons mentioned above seem like totally logical reasons to change the transmission fluid.
thanks for the help.![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Hi guys - thanks for above advice
MB nottingham quoted me £185 for ATF change.
Is this reasonable. Have people got this done elsewhere with MB dealers cheaper.?
Any ideas what an indy would charge?
thanks
