Painting some Parts

I have a AMG style lip spoiler and front bumper that need to be painted, but the price is not in my budget currently (they are asking about $600 for the two). My C300 is the Arctic White color, and the spoiler/bumper are just like a regular stock gray (unpainted from eBay).

For painting them on my own:

Which one of these is Arctic White? And also, if I clear coat over it, will I be able to use these to paint it? Or does touch-up not work for a new paint job?

These are the parts that I'm Painting, Thanks:

My 2010 C300 is 650. If you take your time and spray evenly, you can easily do the lip with the aerosol can. The bumper would have some blemishes unless you wetsand, spray one more coat, then clear over that. If you are able to use a spray gun, get a quart and keep it in case you do a front lip or diffuser you want painted. Just my $.02.

EDIT: Check on your driver's door jam for a black VIN sticker and it should have one of those numbers on it to tell you for sure. They are probably the same color, just different names, or vice-versa.

EDIT2: If you want to get a good name brand, PPG has a quart for about $150 plus some shipping. Or you can do the "store brand" for about $70 plus shipping.

Thanks so much! Mine is 650 as well. tem No Description Your Price Quantity
RSP AE-C-GL AE-ACRYLIC ENAMEL "C" COLOR RESTORATION SHOP PAINT $126.95
RSP AE-C-QT AE-ACRYLIC ENAMEL "C" COLOR RESTORATION SHOP PAINT $42.95

are these the right ones? and it seems like the $130 one is a gallon not a quart, so is this the right thing, or did I do something wrong?

Thanks!!!!!!

EDIT: I searched calcitweiss in the Exact Color Name: (Required) box as Acrylic Enamel (Tech Sheet)

Sorry! Forgot to tell you to select Urethane Basecoat on the left, then "update pricing" again. Thats your base color, then you'd just have to get clear coat kit from the site or local shop.

Something like this:
http://www.tcpglobal.com/itemdetail....T-KC210/212-QT

EDIT: Of course I forgot to mention a reducer....
RSP UR70-QT MED URETHANE REDUCER $13.95
PPG DT870-QT MED URETHANE REDUCER $23.25
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

SOOOO,
RSP UB-C-QT UB-URETHANE BASECOAT "C" CLR $66.95
RSP UR70-QT MED URETHANE REDUCER $13.95
KUS KIT-KC210/212-QT CLEAR COAT KIT $44.95

OR

PPG DBC-SC-QT "SC" COLOR PREMIUM BASECOAT $147.10
PPG DT870-QT MED URETHANE REDUCER $23.25
KUS KIT-KC210/212-QT CLEAR COAT KIT $44.95

Wow, thank you so much for your help - but this is my first time ever painting a car part besides a caliper or plasti-dip. So please have mercy and tell me if I'm right or wrong.

The Steps:

Spoiler: I can just paint it with the calcitweiss paint I originally found or that same Basecoat that you found. After that I need to clearcoat it.

Bumper: Wetsand the bumper. Use the basecoat with a spraygun (found one in the garage no clue why I have it). Then use the reducer on top, and wait for everything to dry. THEN place the clear coat.

Well I'm no expert either, painted my eclipse last fall so just going off my experience. I would paint both parts at the same time. No point in buying both the aerosol and quart paint. You should get a red scuff pad by 3M to sand the parts before painting. You can primer them if you want. It'll probably take 3-4 coats to cover the blackness of the bumper unless you use a gray primer first.

honestly, I used Express Paint to do my eyebrows and the colors was a very good match, but it doesn't level out like the OEM paint. It will look heavily orange peeled and even wet sanding and buffing won't remedy it. It will look very very bad once on your car, because you'll be able to notice the difference right away. You will not be happy with it imo. If you're on a tight budget, I would suggest even hitting up a Maaco, they can probably do it for $200-300 and the paint will last a lot longer than Express Paint and won't look as bad. Just my 2 cents though.

Yeah I think I'll end up doing something like that or going to a mom & pop shop. Just because of the fact that this will be my first time, and I don't want to ruin a really nice car just because I didn't want to fork up like $50. I'll probably do the spoiler on my own, just because it's not a big deal. Thanks!

Yeah, that's probably the best way to go imo, especially if you haven't ever painted before. It's a lot of prep work and painting in the right conditions to get a good paint job. I can recommend some places for you if you want. I live in Durham, NC but I work out of Apex. My friend owns a bodyshop in Garner that can give you a good quote as well.
