Unhappy Exterior roof molding peeling

Hello, I have a 2009 C300 sport.

I have started to notice that the plastic overlay on the exterior roof molding is peeling off, I do have a friend that does body work at a car collision center that said that these moldings can be ordered either through the dealer or online.

Can you guys please help me on finding these part numbers? Its peeling on both the left and right side.

And have any of you C-class drivers experienced this? I am completely shocked that this is happening on a 4 year old car

Any suggestions on what i should do with this problem? I have pictures posted.

Thank You

i went to my local mercedes dealership to see if my warranty would fix my radiator...and the guy i was talking too looked at my roof moldings and told me that mine are are chipping/peeling and that it is a very common problem on our w204's and he fixed mine free of charge as well as the radiator.

My warranty is out and i have to pay everything out of pocket, but its worth it because it is a fine piece of engineering that i drive on a daily basis, is there any way you know the part number?

I had this problem on mine and fixed it last week. I removed them, gave them a light sanding and hit them with some plastidip. They look great!

I've had mine replaced 6 times within a year under warranty and they are starting to peel again. My warranty just expired so I will expect them to cover the parts they just installed two months ago when under warranty. The clear coat on these pieces suck!

Both sides on my car peeled at different times, and both times, they were replaced under warranty.

Have someone wrap them in 3m 1080 Gloss Black vinyl. They have a thin, clear vinyl overlay and they usually start to peel around the rack mount locations.

How did you remove it? I just dont want to kink, snap, or damage it in anyway.

Dealer replaced the left side under warranty about a year ago. They said it was common. I went back for the right side last week. Unfortunately, this time, they are saying that they have never seen this issue before and want $$$$$ to replace it.
