Size (inch): 18
Offset (ET): 48
Width (inch): 8
Tyre size: 235/40/18 All corners

These are the probably acceptable but it is a very conservative setup...
If you are looking at something that has a more or less stock apperance I would probably for one, use bigger tires on the back and probably a spacer on the front

BUT I'M NOT 100% SURE. I will do the math later and get back to you.

The rims should be fine on that one but I don't know about the tires... Somebody with a little more experience at it should be able to help.
I will do the math on both now in an hour or so I am just going to lunch here now and it has been half a slow day so I will have time at work

A250 oem 18 inch rims to 2006 clk280

Hi mb team, would like to ask your help as i am very desperate now since i changed my stock rims to the a250 oem rims and after the balancing and alignment, i still get a bumpy somehow wavy ride. I put some standard spacers as it is rubbing in front and the ebreak pin is getting hit at the back with the bolt. The ride is so annoying and i dont know what to do next. Tire size is 225 40 18 front and 245 40 18 rear. Attached is a pic of the car and rims and i desperately hope someone could help me. Thanks in advance.

Sorry silverclk. Dont know the rim width. But my spacer is 10mm universal fit in front and 30mm at the back. The only thing i know is without the front spacers, the rim itself touches my shocks.

If your running the tire size 225 40 18 front and 245 40 18 rear you have different overall diameters which will make a change to the way the car drives. Stock sizes for the 18" is 225-40-18 fnt and 245-35-18 rear. When you go wider you need to go with a lower aspect ratio sidewall to maintain the same diameter.

Also sounds like the rims are not correct for your car, if they require a spacer to not hit the front shock they are either too wide or dont have the correct offset or both.

Both of these can cause you ride and handling problems.

IMO take them off and get a correctly sized set of wheels and tires. Im running 18" aftermarket tires and TSW wheels that are front 225 -40-18 on a rim that is 8.5 wide and 48 off set and rear is 245-35-18 on a rim that is 9.5 wide and 54 off set. I believe that is almost exactly what the OEM 18" AMG wheels are spec too
