Bought OEM Wheels w/ TPMS, but Car Not Detecting TPMS
I bought replacement OEM wheels that are 100% due to getting a small accident and having to replace my OEM rims. The wheels I bought came off a stock car and has TPMS. However, when I installed the wheel back, my car couldn't detect the TPMS. Do i have to reset it or something so that the car will detect the sensors?
I remember taking off my OEM wheels and putting them back on. I didnt have to reset anything...
Thank You
My question is, where can I check the sensor number so I can tell my dealer? Would I have to remove the tire from the rim?
Off subject a little bit....what about when you rotate your tires? Do the TPMS smartly follow new positions?
Also...what if I go to discount tire and they can't figure out how to lock the TPMS back in (assuming I reuse the existing ones currently in the old tires). Is the dealership gonna charge me to reprogram it? That would suck.

In general, TPMS is not position sensitive. As long as the sensors are working correctly and are the correct ones for your car, you should not have to change anything when you remove & replace or rotate the tires.
AFAIK the TPMS reset function accessed through the system menu changes the default tire pressures used by the system to issue alerts - it does not reset the TPMS system.
If anything, maybe the TPMS have a certain identity that correlates with the car it's on, and if that changes, then a re association (probably a one time deal) may need to occur. If one changes the tires, I'm assuming the TPMS that came with the car is reused, so the car stays happy until the TPMS's physically change.

If this doesn't work you may have 1 or more bad sensors or the wrong sensors for your fitment. Do you know what YEAR MAKE MODEL the TPMS came off. I can check if have or know that info. What is your YEAR MAKE MODEL? If you do have the correct sensor and 1 is bad the system will not learn until you replace the bad sensor. You can go to any tire shop and have the sensors scanned to see which one is not transmitting.
TPMS life span is only 5-7 years
RESET Air Pressure
1 Inflate all tires to pressure listed on tire placard.
2. Turn ignition to ON position (engine off).
3. Press forward/back button on steering wheel until trip and odometer are displayed.
4. Press UP/DOWN button until tire inflation pressure monitor is displayed
5. Hold down reset button (located on instrument cluster) until MONITOR CURRENT TIRE PRESSURE? Is displayed.
6. Press + button TIRE PRESS, MONITOR ACTIVATED-PRESS. DISPLAY AFTER DRIVING A FEW MINS. is displayed.
7. If REACTIVATE-TIRE PRESS. MONITOR! Appears, repeat relearn procedure.
8. If CHECK TIRES! appears, indicates tire pressure too low, adjust pressures accordingly
Relearn New Sensor Ids.
Ensure all tires are inflated to the pressure listed on the tire placard. Vehicle must be driven for at least 10 minutes, while maintaining speed above 15 mph in order for system to learn new sensor IDs. If spare tire sensor ID is being programmed, a properly formatted scan tool is necessary.

Does this probably mean that the new sensors need to be scanned?
