2012 C350 Sport Mode Transmission ?

I have a 2012 C350 with about 5500 miles on it.

On a few occasions recently when I put it in sport mode, it seems like there is a long delay when shifting from first to second. It has always shifted smoothly in ECO mode, and in Sport mode the other gears seem to shift fine. Has anyone else had this issue?

It's probably just the adaptation not having figured out your driving style yet.

When in Eco mode, your car only uses 1st gear if you floor it from a start or very slow roll, all of the other times it starts off in 2nd. Maybe it seems like a long delay because you're not used to actually using 1st gear?

Also remember if the car is not fully warmed up it holds onto those lower gears for longer to heat the Cats quickly & reduce emissions.

Yeah I notice in sport mode the gear shifts from 1 > 2 and 2 > 3 are really jumpy and I don't find it is any faster than eco mode. If anything I find the car reaches the optimal power band in eco mode faster and smoother.

I don't think that is it, as it happens pretty repeatedly.
I've also noticed it more while turning, not sure if that matters. To me it feels like the transmission is slipping.

Next time you have the car in for service ask them to check all the lockup duration & pressures with Star for your version of software flashed to the TCU. You have the 722.9 Plus transmission.

You might want to try resetting the adaptive driving parameters which is done like this:

Key on, pedal down, 5 sec, key off pedal up, wait 2
minutes. The key should be in the ignition the whole time.

It works for me and for a lot of people who did this and I hope it works for you too.

Good luck!

Ah ok - wasn't sure.

S versus E makes a huge difference in the M271, which is why I was asking. It's happy to loaf around in E riding a wave of torque, but S helps mask the turbo lag when you really want to move.

Accelerator Pedal.

For Keyless GO - just pull the button out and you have a traditional ignition behind there.
