For Sale OR TRADE: Aftermarket tail lights

Hey everyone,
I wanted to sell or trade my tail lights that I purchased a few days ago for the stock 2012+ ones. I want to put them on a 2009 C300 and have seen ebay ones that say are direct plug and play for 2009s so those are the only ones I am interested in as a trade.

I have not installed these on my car yet but have tested them to make sure they work, they are in perfect condition.

If someone would like to purchase them without a trade I will let them go for $200 picked up in the SF bay Area or $220 shipped anywhere in the US.

Please PM if interested
Thanks !

The stock 2012+ Tails are not just plug and play for the 2009 car you have. You need your rear SAM reprogrammed.

Is there not aftermarket ones that are plug and play?

I was referring to something like this, Not OEM ones:

Gotcha, the part that threw me off was you saying STOCK. None of these are stock... If they are new, return them and buy the red ones. They should do that for you.

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but are these the same ones?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/08-11-M-BENZ-W204-C-CLASS-EURO-FACTORY-STYLE-LED-BRAKE-SIGNAL-REVERSE-TAIL-LIGHT-/190850988563?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2c6f9afa13&vxp=mtr
Just trying to find the cheapest price for the red ones on eBay myself.

Hey dolvio, maybe you can answer me this. I just saw on another thread (https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-amg-w...rofit-diy.html) that we can get the OEM original 2012 tail lights for ~$400. Why would I not order those, instead of the ones from eBay which aren't OEM? Any significant differences other than the difference in price? Thanks!

Hey man, the OEM ones will not work without reprogramming your rear SAM module. Lots have had it done on here but the guy who was doing it is not anymore from what I understand. The dealer won't do it either... (but they could). In 2010 like my car is nobody on the planet could figure it out as the software changed.

The replicas are not bad and I like the amber turn signal. Nobody would really know the difference unless they knew these cars....lol

I got them today! They're beautiful! Not installed yet but I tested them out in the trunk using the wire harness.

Now about those tips...

Hey buddy, nice job. They are easy to install and take a max of 15 mins if you know what you are doing. There are a couple black boxes on each light. Go get some good double sided tape as you will need to mount them beside the lights on the metal of the car. You will figure it out and keep in mind they get very hot.

Did you get the instructions on cutting the green wire? The lights are going to buzz. Don't worry about it. Did they buzz when you tested them?

Yes, they buzzed, but nothing that would bother me. I couldn't hear them if I got back in the car.

The instructions I got say that, for US cars (i.e. mine), I should cut the green/yellow line, and "separate" the red/white line from the group head (does this just mean unplug?), because U.S. regulatory vehicle does not have a rear fog lamp function.

This is confusing to me. My car does have a rear fog lamp function if I pull on the light switch to the second position.

Also, when I remove the four bolts inside the trunk, will the whole tail light assembly come out the back, outside of the car? Or does it come off from inside of the trunk? And is there a separate external transparent cover that comes off, the one with vent holes in the C300 sport, the black piece shown on this car: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2515/...eb9afaeb_b.jpg) or is that part of the tail light I'm removing?

Thanks!

Yo,

Cut the green wire and leave everything else. Don't unplug anything.

yep 4 bolts and light comes out the back. Easy... trust me.

I'll try to get to it tonight, otherwise tomorrow when there's more light, and I'll let you know how it went!

So these aftermarket lights will not give an error on the dash?

That is correct. They don't give an error in the dash.
