(2008 C300) Switching out my iPod cable for Aux?
This has been bugging me ever since I got my C300 a couple months back. I know if I go somewhere, they'll charge me quite a bit of money, and I'm kind of on a budget for the next couple months. I've got a really long commute and I subscribe to Spotify premium, so I want to make the best out of it like I used to in my last car that came with a ready to use Aux port...
I read these threads, but I guess as a guy who doesn't know much about cars, I really could use something more step by step - with instructions and exactly what tools I'd need for this... (I grudgingly admit that): https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...nput-back.html and https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...glove-box.html
I'd appreciate any and all help! Thanks so much in advance!

Open your passenger side door and start by gently removing the cover on the side of the dashboard. It is held in place by 3 clips. This is where the Aux cable could/should be hidden. I was able to use both and had both accessible on my 08 C300. I never removed the Aux so I couldn't tell you how to mount it in the glovebox.

Anyone who needs a visual on where the aux is, here is a pic
AUX is placed to the side when they install the ipod adapter. Just pop off the side panel on the glove box to find it. It's fully functioning just stored away.... Why? No one knows
I saw your post and ran down to my baby to discover that I also had the aux port hidden behind the glovebox's side panel... I am one happy camper right now, cuz I was so bummin when I saw the old *** 30 pin iPhone cable in my glove box. Now to decide if I want to attempt to extend the port to my center console or if I should just buy the $50 Bluetooth doo-hickey from Amazon... I've heard that aux would have better audio quality, but I have not verified that just yet. Anyways, thank you so much for your post! I hope others find this info as useful as I did.
I have a 2010 C300 and I had the same issue, the 16 pin iPhone/IPod connection was not working and there was not aux connection, I opened up the right cover and the aux connection was already pre-wired from factory so I just pulled the iPhone connection and put the aux connection which works for any iPhone or android phones.

Simple question; how do you pull the panel? Seems like it would just pull off from the bottom but doesn't seem to want to let go...hate to break off any tabs from interior trim.

If you have the original style iPod/iPhone 30 pin connector in the glove box, it's attached to the iPod Adaptor (kit) which is a module plugged into both the Audio20 headunit and integrated into the dashboard and steering wheel electronics. Recommend not removing, just tuck the cord & connector away, Use the regular Aux jack which should be still there as described above. Best of success!
